Very nice scenery at this Christmas tree farm... Makes you feel like you're in the mountains almost. This has turned into our annual family Christmas tree outing due to its picturesque setting. Pea Ridge Forest offers pre-cut trees and also provides band saws to go out to one of their fields to cut your own tree. Field trees are $13 per foot no matter which tree type you pick. I took off a star due to this year they make you walk close to a half mile on a gravel road shared with cars to their other field that is away from the main parking lot. The past two years we cut our tree from the field near the parking lot, so that was a change this year. There really should be a shuttle service or alternate parking lot, as this makes it difficult with small children or those with mobility limitations. They do drive your cut tree back to the loading area at least. Staff will load and secure your tree to your vehicle if requested. The facility also had games for children as well as several crafts for purchase. Overall great place for families to visit and pick out a...
Read moreWhat started as a great annual trip to cut down our Christmas tree ended with a traumatizing experience for our family as we were waiting in line for a funnel cake when our dog was unexpectedly & violently attacked by the “farm dog” for NO reason. A lady came over from the food trailer to get the dog (but never said anything to us or even apologized) and a gentleman (assuming owner) came over to check on us. He said the dog (a tan, standard poodle) is a farm dog who’s not good with dogs. I asked why it was outside unleashed, when customers dogs are welcome & there were tons of them, but he had no response. My 2 young daughters (& I) were very upset with the experience, one of which cried for almost an hour. We are just so grateful it didn’t attack one of the kids.
While I think we will be exploring different Christmas Tree farms next year, if you decide to go to this one stay far, far away from that tan,...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place. I really did. Unfortunately there are a few reasons I probably won't return.
There was a serious lack of selection in the Christmas tree field. Supposedly there was going to be "multiple fields" open when we went, but that was not the case. There was one tiny field with maybe 200 trees and half of them were still too small to cut. I was expecting a much larger area and selection.
The prices were much more expensive than anything else in the area. We've been to 3 other tree farms over the last few years and they always were between $7-9 a foot. Why is it $11 a foot here? Could have gone to a tree lot at home depot or sullivan and paid 75$ for an 8ft frasier fir and still been cheaper than here...
The place is very nice and the food trucks, people and atmosphere is all very very good. But the very basics of a tree farm fell...
