FireLake Express Grocery is one of my favorite stops when I’m in the area. It may be small, but it’s incredibly clean, well-organized, and always stocked with the essentials. I love that they carry a good variety of both everyday items and local Native brands that you don’t always find elsewhere. I was pleasantly surprised to find some Asian fruits and vegetables like dragon fruit and bean sprouts — not something you’d expect in a small-town grocery store! The prices are reasonable too, not much higher than what you’d pay in a big city. It’s great for local residents who want to save time and gas instead of driving far for specialty items. The staff here are super friendly and helpful — they make you feel welcome the moment you walk in. Whether I’m grabbing a quick snack, fresh produce, or something from the hot deli, I always have a good experience. Parking is easy, and checkout is usually fast. It’s a convenient and reliable stop, especially for locals and travelers...
Read moreI’m so upset today! I brought my dog Ollie in as I always do for the past two years I’ve never had any problems before when we go in all the cashiers love her they always have dog treats and they give them to the dogs. I guess today it was a problem. A lady who is new there came up to us as soon as we walked in saying I couldn’t have her in the store with me and that dogs have never been allowed in the store. I told her we do our grocery shopping here once a week and we bring her in every time and that it’s never been a problem before. I told her we didn’t have AC in our vehicle at the time and asked if it was OK if I carried her around with me just one time and if she would let it slide. She would not allow it. Also let me say this Ollie is 5lbs. I also let her know that she is my emotional support dog. She then told me she couldn’t let her in the store without some...
Read moreThis morning my son and I were eyeballing the cupcakes by the deli this morning. A female employee stocking told my son he was adorable. Ma'am you didn't see his eyes crinkle in the corners at the compliment from smiling behind his mask. Nor do I think you realize the magnitude of such simple kindness. See my son has high functioning autism and this week a kid at school had called him ugly. Standing infront of the milk fridge a minute later he randomly looks at me and says that kid is a liar. I asked him who. He said the kid that called me ugly. That lady and pointed back to you doesn't know me and she thinks I'm adorable. I watched as the pep in his step came out. You're simple words boosted back his confidence. You didn't just make this moms day you gave a complete stranger to you back his confidence. I want to say thank you even though those words don't seem like...
