There are lovely places to camp up here. I visited in early May which is still the off season so I don't know what things are like during the summertime. Much wildlife, much solitude. If your vehicle is up to the dirt roads you can get to some great and inexpensive camping. There are downsides: outside of the tourist season you may find things closed, the well water at the campgrounds was very rusty probably because I was the first to use the pump for many months, you do need to be careful of waking wildlife, stick to the main roads unless you know what you're doing. The biggest downside? There are only two places I could find in the area where you could reliably get to Lake Superior without trespassing, they are far apart.    Read moreI really loved staying here! Every camp site has a trail down to lake Superior. Lots of rocks! You can hear the waves at night, in your tent. A few hiking trails also. The road is dirt and was pretty bumpy and dusty. Kinda out in the middle of no where and I had no cell signal. Just come prepared. The porta potties weren't to bad when we first got there but after a couple days, they got smelly and kinda full. Definitely bring some wipes! It honestly is a hot little camping place.
