Opportunity stop and neat little village. The builder of this has long passed (1977) but spent about a decade constructing the village out of stone. It has withstood the elements for that long. The details are fantastic. Love the water tower and what looks like a church.
The entrance can be confusing but it is where the fire department is for reference sake. Parking is basically along a dirt-ish road and not on Highway 86. Will add that children have left toys throughout the village and this could use some cleanup.
Reality: Don't expect a large area to peruse. There isn't much here and not somewhere I would drive out of my way for. We were in the area and read about it so we made a stop. I wouldn't make this a destination or excursion exclusively for this. If you are on 86 it may be worth a stop for 5 minutes to see. Aside from that, it's something you can...
Read moreHave been reading about it for awhile, so worth the trip out. Such talent and creativity went into the little village. It was amazing to finally see it in person. More see see in every building. Such great planning and thought went into the planning and execution of each piece. We would love to see it again in the summer it was too cold to stay too long this trip. But it's worth exploring with more time and giving more attention to all the little touches and details. I think we will try to see how many reused materials we can find. It was neat to see a faucet repurposed or a scrap piece of something used in a new unique way. the brick work and use of different building materials was so artistic and fun. And they had a visitors book to sign and mark your trip. It would be a great trip for kids and adults a like. A wonderful...
Read moreI need to be sincere here... I saw this place on the internet and looks like amazing... so, I decided to go there. Drove 1:15 minutes. When I parked beside the place o couldn't hold my deception. Don't understand me wrong, this place is beautiful, the person who built did a good job, nothing about that... but it is very small place. On the internet I thought that was a place to spend at least 30min walking through the stone village. My kid when he saw, he said: it is only that? Can I stay in the car? So, we walked through and less than 5min we were done. You can see the size by the pictures that I took there. I think you guys should be more realistic in your marketing on the internet about the size of the place. Although. I need to say that person built a...
