A wonderful and diverse little museum in the tiny town of medicine bow. I really enjoyed all of it. One of my favorites was the monitor sheep wagon, complete with bed, tiny cabinets, even a stove and couch. I loved the full sized one as well.

Doesn't look like much on the outside, but packed floor to ceiling with treasures and big items along the outside fences too!! I could have spent the whole day in there. Cute tiny gift area too!

Really neat place to go see and see about the history of the town. If you are traveling through it is a good stop . And go across the street to the Virginian hotel for a bite to eat.

This is a small and worthwhile museum. You will be greeted by volunteer ranchers and locals. There are old west relics. Some of them are out. It is intimate. They have some old west books for sale. They also have some things for sale for kids like: dinosaur toys, coloring books. Prices are very reasonable. It works to go there and then head over to the Virginian. We went upstairs and looked at the rooms with original furniture and lace curtains. The bar is rustic with framed facts about Bank robbers some original wall paper and a bullet hole. If you want get into the spirit of the west, go there. Then head on out to the prairie and smell the sage bush. Take dirt roads. Feel the breeze of the wind in late summer. Talk with locals. They visit. The museum will lavish you with their time. And, they only ask for donations. It...

It's worth a stop for anyone who'd like to understand the wide ranging history of Medicine Bow and the surrounding area. Sally was on duty when I visited. She was friendly & engaging, and offered information on other sites I could visit in the surrounding area. Very clean & well-organized exhibits. A little sparse with Native American history. Some products for purchase including The Virginian novel. The curator is constantly working on improvements, with the most recent acquisition being the Como Bluffs Dinosaur Bone Cabin. Leave a little cash in the donation box so they can...

We enjoyed our visit of this small but very complete museum of pioneer life. Plenty of railroad stuff but also good collection of early life on the prairies. Bathrooms open when museum is open. We visited September 2023. Also good location to watch trains which pass very...
