Awful management who seemed very inconvenienced to get our business. The clubhouse is a dump and the amenities are awful. We had 16 guys, and as soon as we got there we seemed to be bothering them buy purchasing our greens fees. At the turn, the only food we could buy were disgusting hot dogs rolling on those rotisseries. We couldn't buy chips or bottled beverages from the snack bar, we had to buy them from the vending machines which of course didn't work right. You would've thought the world was ending when one of our guys asked to buy a bag of pretzels he saw behind the snack bar because there were no pretzels in the vending machines. We then tried to buy some beer for the back nine and asked them to put some in plastic bags with ice which is a standard practice at most golf courses, and they told us they were not allowed to give out ice! We asked if we could have something to keep the beers cold, and they said no. We then asked if there was a beverage cart on the course that we could buy beer from and they said no. There was a bee problem in the clubhouse, and they wouldn't leave us alone as we tried to eat our gross hot dogs, and one guy got stung. It started to rain at the turn, so we all waited it out for about an hour. Management told us as soon as there was standing water on a green, they'd shut the whole course down and we would have to leave. It was obvious they wanted to go home. A few of our guys were playing cards (FOR NO MONEY) to pass the time. Just as the rain was letting up, we were told there was no card playing allowed, and we had to FINISH GOLFING OR GO HOME. This was by far the worst customer service I've ever experienced at a golf course, and I play a lot of golf. People work too hard to give their money/business to a place like this. What's a shame is that the course itself is a pretty nice track, but there are other nice tracks in the area for a better value. However, if you're idea of a fun round of golf is "NO ICE, NO BEER, NO FOOD, and NO SMILES, then this is the...
Read moreI’m in Florida and I came up last week for a mini vacation. I was born and raised in Ohio played a lot of golf courses around. They weren’t that good so we decided to play Pleasant Valley Medina went on the reviews and found a bunch of reviews talking about cartpath how bad they are and I can’t ride with three people on a card and they wouldn’t let us. I’ll never come back again Even the clubhouse is old. I played this course back in 1987. It was beautiful so I was skeptical and was gonna change the teatime when I got there. The people inside the clubhouse are very pleasant jokingly happy it was a little pricey, but when I played this course, the car pass were bad not too bad, but not Good. Clubhouse was OK normal clubhouse but we played 18 holes. I never seen a better course condition in Pleasant Valley the fairways were excellent at 18 greens we played. I never seen any marks on those greens that weren’t manicured except for peoples divots that seem to not want to fix. I was very very pleased with this course and I don’t want to hear anybody Saying stupid stuff like all the carts or this or that I’ll play that course every time I come up Ohio now $78 or whatever the price they said it was we only paid 58 thank you pleasant Valley for a pleasant golf experience. I will play you again many times and I’ll tell everybody about you....
Read moreIt's a mixed bag at Pleasant Valley.
The good: pace of play course condition the new carts
The bad: It's not a $72 golf course which is their weekend prime rate. The amenities just aren't there. the paths, especially on the back 9, are horrendous and need a repaving ASAP (someone who has a paving business, I see an opportunity) no bathrooms nor water on the course No. 17 needs a drop zone the overgrowth along the right side of #18 and which blocks any shot or view of 18 green needs addressing the clubhouse is very shabby looking for a $72 round when I asked where the towel bucket was, was pointed to a spigot. Can you not afford a $5 bucket? the clubhouse sent out a 2 some on #10 at 11am on a Saturday in the midst of a steady stream of 4 somes making the turn. Who does that?
I think Pleasant Valley fancies itself in the same league as Shale Creek and Bunker Hill which are nearby but it's not.
A more appropriate weekend greens fee is upper $50s. But at $72, it's a hard pass...
