Incredible history held all in a few building!! Many families have come and gone, many have made names for themselves and many have created legacies for their families for years to come. Read moreI visited the museum to try to see whether an ancestor of mine had actually lived in Meeker (as our improbable family legend had it). The museum is much bigger than it looks from the outside, has a fascinating (but, as someone else says, chaotically-organized…) collection of everything from photos to stage coaches to barbed wire to dolls to furniture from Meeker's past, and the curator I met went beyond the call of duty to research my ancestor (yes, he did live there, a long time ago). A large portion felt like an antique collection museum, but if more signs were added about the significance of the objects it might make more sense for local history. One building definitely was about the history of the area including a notorious massacre and a particular battle field. Could spend 30 min to an hour here easily... more if you want to read a lot. The lady there was super helpful in filling in details of any questions I had....
