Okay. So this review is against the policies of the temple and not against Hinduism, writing this review this Diwali evening-2021. Moved to Memphis a week ago. I am a proud hindu, living in United States since 18 Years and this is the first time I felt offended. Firstly, They had this policy of closing gates after certain time on "Diwali night", apparently they had booking from few people to do all prayers. So if you hadnt book your slot, you can pay either 31$ tonight to get a glimpse of Govinda or pay 61$ to do entire pooja. Amazed myself I asked this question "WHY" to concern person, He said BECAUSE of COVID they have started this paid system. So are u saying that If 2000 people book the slot for darshan, will you allow them? Secondly I feel embarrassed of all this happening in front of American colleague who was really excited of going to a Hindu temple this Diwali as He has been to other temples in United States. Well I am amazed and Laughing as I have been taught spiritually, that U find Peace in Gods home but Today I am feeling disappointment in policies makers of this Indian Cultural Center and Temple Inc. By the way, I did not make any payment...
Read moreI am a devout Hindu; however, I do not agree with some of the policies of this temple. First, they segregate people based on whether they have bought membership from the Temple. Second, I believe that religion is a communal service not a business. Therefore, the Temple staff should not be charging thousands of dollars for membership. Third, the Temple pours gallons of milk and orange juice on the God statues in the name of prayer. Many people in this world are dying because they have little water and no nutrition. This temple is wasting copious amounts of nutritious liquids instead of donating this money to impoverished regions of the world. At the end of the day, religion is subjective, and this is solely my opinion. Please forgive me if I have...
Read moreI had a not happy experience here! The lady at the entrance stopped suggesting no more dhoti given that was earlier provided to cover lower body but available now at 10 dollars to buy. The mask is available only at a good price. There is no restrictions on the other hall with other God's. The room was full of party tables just infront of God's. On one hand they are providing facilities to sit on table right infront of Gods and eat the and on the other hand at main temple full norms to be followed, and remediation available at a price! In similar situations and attire we were able to visit the same facility earlier than this, however, this time the entry was denied. Unfortunately, didn't feel like being at...
