Nice little lake for fishing and walking around. There is a spring flowing across the path. However, the restrooms were closed and the portapotties filthy. The parking is frustrating with huge cement blocks strategically placed to deter camping, but they are irritating for ordinary vehicles too.

The birds were singing, the wind could be heard easing through the trees. The lake was aqua marine. The only negatives were the tracks of people as at 1030 on a Sunday morning the bathrooms were a hot mess and the debris around the pavilion had been scattered by critters overnight.

Park was ok but it smelled and had overfilled XL size dumpsters. Lake had a strange green color even the tourist asked me why was it that color. Fishing was not good small fish kept stealing bait. Overall it wasn't a good visit. Took nice pics though.

The park is very pretty and surprisingly well maintained considering that there is an old or abandoned boat marina that makes that side of the river look bad. However the park itself is enclosed by a wonderful forest of mature trees. The picnic infrastructure is vintage but looks charming and well kept. It is very clean and the roads and trails are very pleasant and peaceful. The only drawback is the factory right at the entrance of this wonderful park and it is a total eye sore. It is also very noisy on that side of the park. Many people probably avoid the park because it is located on what it appears to be a disadvantage community and the way leading to the park is not well kept as the downtown area, which is a shame since the metal museum is beautiful and it is also located in that area. The city of Memphis should make more emphasis on protecting these wonderful parks and making them safe and appealing to everyone. That place is right at the river, it could be just as wonderful as the Riverfront giving the city more places for entertainment...

Enjoyed a family gathering out there last weekend and it was very nice the gazebo we rented out. It had a tennis court, BBQ grill, lake to fish, nice trail to walk if you liked, playground, pretty decent bathrooms and adequate parking. Only one problem. Those pesky wasps, stinky bugs and bees. But we didn't have control over that just put on some deet and enjoy. As always this is my opinion....
