To fulfill my glowing US States visited, drove from Green Bay to Menominee, Michigan. So Michigan is now my 42nd State visited. Stopped by John Henes Park for a little stroll and few pics and the park was absolutely green and lush. The view of Lake Michigan is vast and serene. The lake appeared gloomy with a skyline of grayish silver where the sun tried forcefully to penetrate the cloud and the waves hummed and crashed the rocks. The park's entrance is one-way so you have to drive the loop through the entire park. There are many recreational opportunities such biking, fishing, picnicking, swimming, and walking. It was cloudy, few raindrops, and a little chilly for me, a Floridian (53 degrees) so I did not walk a lot but that did not deter me from admiring its...

This beach was fantastic! Very clean, nice indoor facilities and restrooms (even a place to rinse sand off), playground, grilling areas, and perfect for families with smaller children as the water is shallow for 100 feet+. Some reviews said the beach was not clean but it was very clean when we were there, yes it had debris like sticks and a little seaweed but overall very clean. We will be back next time we are up there! Recommended things to bring: umbrella (there’s no shade), beach chairs, sand/beach toys, speaker, beach towels, football to toss back and forth,...

What a nice park! It's right on Lake Michigan's shore and you can see Door County across the way. There's a nice, traditionally rustic park shelter and there are lots of picnic tables. There's also an amazing park building with a view of the shoreline, kitchen, fireplace, large outdoor grill, etc. I assume you have to reserve it and that there's a fee, but it would be a lovely place for a smallish wedding or a family reunion.

The park also has some trails. Not long, but pretty, and the Shakespeare Trail includes little signs with info about...

I found this incredible gem of a neighborhood park by accident. I was on my way to Marquette and needed a place to stop and feed/walk my dog. I easily found the park and a parking spot; it was about 5pm on a Sunday, late July ‘17. This place is wonderful for walking and walking your dog. I walked DakotaBear for about 40 minuets after he had dinner. There were a few others in the park but, I was surprised that there weren’t more, it’s such nice park. If you are near, stop and stretch your legs along the shore of Lake Michigan, you will not regret it!
