Overlook Beach Park — Attraction in Mentor-on-the-Lake

This park is very nice with excellent views!

There is a little library at the front right near the parking area.

I saw several people stop here, to take their kids to the park and play. It was very clean and well maintained.

But I have to say I was very disappointed because the whole reason that I went there was to walk down to the water and beachy area ... only to find that the wooden structured platform and stairs was closed !!! I guess due to some kind of erosion...of either/both the beach area and stairs?! Hopefully that is something that can be rectified!

It's not everyday I am by a lake, and was really wanting to walk to the shore, but there didn't seem to be ANY place in this town to do that!

I went to a different park before this, and there was an unsafe steep path people wore through the tall grass..that I was not...

Nice little park with a lovely view of Lake Erie, a playground, a pavilion with picnic benches and a few benches facing out towards the water. Unfortunately, the overlook deck and stairs down to the beach are closed due to erosion (as seen in all the parks over been to along the shore in this region), but some people more agile than I made a path down to the water. I happened upon this park while looking at a house for sale and would love to be able to walk over in the afternoons to just enjoy the sight of the lake. I gave the park 4 stars because it is still a well cared for park and playground. I have many good memories walking to this park while growing up in the area. Not sure it should be called "beach" anymore since the beach is eroded away mostly and what is left is blocked off to enter.
