When trying to reach Pacific Palisades, Google will direct to the boat ramp. There's a nice view of the river, but that's about all. Looks good for fishing. To get to the south part, you have to enter "Pacific Palisades south parking lot," which someone has labeled as a museum! There isn't much to do from the south lot either. There is a gravel road which can be walked, but hunters get cranky when people hike there. The "service road" doesn't match up to what's on their map. All in all, we didn't find it very interesting.

The area has dove hunting beginning on September 1, so any late summer hiking in the fields should be before then. Archery season begins September 15.

For those who float from the Pacific boat ramp to Allenton access, you might not be able to turn right to Allenton from Route 66.

Signs say not to walk downstream of the boat ramp on shore.

The backwater lakes have filled in, dry to shallow when the river is low.

Unfortunately there are tracks from off road vehicles on the downstream end of the area on the right side, and the tracks extend to river islands.

Enormous amounts of trash from floods in the inside...

Very nice ,just wish a few of the visitors would not dump trash on the lot .We all use this for fun and hunting, and not to mention the wildlife that gets into it .Though the department of conservation does amazing job .There were great food plots for all the animals and the road going through was very nice .It shows they take priority in it !! And seen on deer this morning and few others seen some as well .Will be back...
