Read moreI’m going to leave my original review with the details below. I want to update this to a 5. As I allowed an employee to negatively influence my overall view of this gym. The vast majority of the staff I’ve interacted with other than the below mentioned interactions is night and day. Maybe I just caught him in a bad moment or the stress of the season was upon him. Either way, the Gym is a wonderful environment overall. It definitely pushes you to chase that ever lasting Twinkie on a stick.
Gym is actually a solid 5. Only reason for the 3 stars is due to the fact that I came in twice. I got a day pass enjoyed the gym but wasn’t able to get a full workout in due to my own personal schedule that day. I came back in and did another day pass. I asked the Gentleman (who charged my previous day pass) if I sign up today can you credit yesterday and or even just the one I paid for now. Towards my sign up fee. He said no, we don’t do that. I asked him even if I just paid for it right now and asked you sign up, he answered no, we don’t do that. So total 32$+ (16$ a pass). I was actually looking forward to signing up as the gym is a very wonderful environment, however passed off my two days of interaction with the person whom seems to be running the front desk. Lack of enthusiasm and what seems to be a forced “money membership” from a day pass system. I personally would rather give my money else where. As someone whom values customer satisfaction, 15$ hit on a day pass vs the ROI on my yearly upfront payment for the membership.
Pro Tip: worth the sign up but don’t get a day pass as it won’t credit towards your sign up.
Side notes: they have some really cool and unique stuff like the seated forearm squeeze, the pendulum squat, etc.
TLDR; solid gym, bad business/front...
Read moreI’ve been going to Top Gym for a little over a year. I see some comments about price. I think with a year in full plan monthly expenses are quite comparable to commercial gyms. For me, the only thing I wish was possible would be extended hours because I’m a night shifter. However, I think their hours has more to do with Mercedes politics (may be mistaken).
High muscle hypertrophy and powerlifting emphasis. I.e., treadmills don’t constitute the majority of the floor like commercial gyms.
The pros surpass any cons in my opinion. The staff is amazing. The atmosphere is awesome (dim lights, good sound system, great equipment). The gym etiquette is refreshing but there always is a few knuckle heads (rack your weights!)
Overall, I’ve had a great experience. Some goals achieved despite my lack of nutrition discipline. My +20lb gain attached.
Best wishes...
