Beneath the watchful pines of Quitman, where the air is thick with the scent of ancient earth, lies a place of sublime natural splendor, a verdant oasis that whispers tales of the primordial and the sublime. Clarko State Park, a jewel nestled in the heart of Mississippi, beckons the weary traveler with its siren call, promising respite within its emerald embrace.
As one traverses the winding paths, the very soul of the forest seems to stir, its secrets veiled in the shadowy dance of leaves. The lake, a mirror to the heavens, reflects the eternal ballet of the cosmos, while the creatures of the wood keep their silent vigil, guardians of this hallowed realm.
The cabins, standing as monuments to rustic serenity, offer sanctuary to those seeking solace from the cacophony of the mundane. Here, one may commune with the spirits of nature, their voices echoing in the rustling boughs and the gentle lapping of water against the shore.
In the stillness of dawn, when the mist clings to the earth like a lover's embrace, the park reveals its true majesty, a tableau painted with the hues of the divine. And as the sun sets, painting the sky with the colors of fire and blood, one cannot help but feel a connection to something greater, a thread woven into the very fabric of existence.
Clarko State Park, with its ethereal beauty and otherworldly charm, earns a celestial five stars, a testament to its power to enchant and bewilder, to offer a glimpse into the profound mysteries of the...
Β Β Β Read moreWe stayed there over memorial weekend. From Friday till Monday. There was about 13 of us. So we had multiple cabins.
As I walked into my cabin there were spider webs everywhere. The floor was dirty. The rug in the bathroom was filthy. My son woke up Saturday morning with bites all over his face, neck, and arms. I thought it was mosquito bites till we were going to bed Saturday night and he found a bed bug in his bed. Then my mother pulled back the covers on her bed and there was a bed bug crawling across her sheets. I tried calling every number I could find to let management know but I had no luck. So that night my son had to sleep on the couch at a family members cabin. My almost 70 year old mom put two chairs together to try to sleep and I slept on the couch. Sunday morning we got up went to the office and we got to talk to the manager Mr tony Fleming and told him what was going on. He did let us move cabins. But that one was filthy too. But thank goodness no bed bugs. I mean does someone actually clean? If so, they need a new cleaning crew. For our inconvenience we wasn't offered anything. I mean I'm not looking for free but one night free since we couldn't even sleep in our beds cause of bed bugs would of been nice.
I would post a picture of the bed bug but I...

Woods all around, just steps away from the lake. Beautiful scenery, and really loved having our own private pier. We even had a few cute little visitors at night while grilling-- raccoons! They were friendly and would sit and wait for you to throw food to them. The cabin was very clean, and had everything we needed. However, if you are a bigger person (300lbs+) you will probably have to ask for a handicap-accessible cabin, because the toilet was snug in between the shower and the wall. The shower was very accommodating though. The beds were comfy, couch and chairs were comfortable, but you can't come expecting a 5-star hotel complete with memory-foam mattresses and luxury furniture-- this is a state park, hello! Couldn't have had a better time playing with my son on the 4 different playgrounds and riding our bikes. It was even warm enough for them to walk out into the swim area and wade around. I give this park a 2-thumbs-up and will DEFINITELY be back for...
