This place is amazing, but you have to be prepared before you head out into the Monument. All of the roads are dirt. There are no paved roads. If you are not an outdoors person you will want to speak with someone that has visited the area before. For more information about the area vist the Visitor Center at 345 E. Riverside Dr., St George Utah. My recommendations are to bring two full size spare tires, tire Plug kit, Air compressor, plenty of water (more than you think you need), and food. You can’t get here so don’t try it. You better know off trail desert survival techniques if you do go and have the equipment. Those from California in rental cars, don’t.

Those with OHV’s can go as long as you have a street legal plated OHV. Self-rescue capabilities are highly recommended, carry an activated Garmin inReach device so you can call for help and a SPOT device with rescue plan as well. Not kidding. Don’t become a statistic.

Finally, have a spare of everything and keep in mind that Mountain Lions are active predators in the Parashant at higher elevations.

Enjoy the beauty of our great country...

The Grand Canyon is a breathtaking natural wonder that exceeds all expectations. Its immense size, with layers of red rock revealing millions of years of geological history, is awe-inspiring. The views from various lookout points, especially at sunrise and sunset, are mesmerizing, offering an ever-changing palette of colors. Hiking trails, such as the Bright Angel and South Kaibab, provide immersive experiences, though they can be challenging. The Colorado River at the canyon's base adds to its majesty. Whether you're an avid adventurer or simply a lover of natural beauty, the Grand Canyon is a must-visit...

Park service employees wear many hats—most notably, the "flat hat." Check out rangers passing this iconic hat down the Colorado River through Rocky Mountain National Park, Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park, Rainbow Bridge National Monument, Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, Grand Canyon National Park and Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument, and sharing each parks connection to this transformative and vital water source.
