Its not the best beach in the fort myers area, but it is probably the most low key. Pay for parking at the meter. Limited amount of parking. Not bathrooms on beach itself, but there is a building where the kayak rental is that does have bathrooms if you need to use them. There is also a convenient store just at the corner turning turning onto the road to get to this beach to stock your cooler or grab some bait before you get here. The water itself isnt the greatest. The bottome can be kind of mucky. We enjoy coming here to get some sun and enjoy the sunset. Not dogs are allowed on the beach, BUT lots of locals tend to bring them anyways which nobody seems to mind as long as they are being...

Beautiful beach, great for the whole family... Swimming in San Carlos Bay, water is warm (September) and shallow, waves were basically non-existent, and lots of seashells at low tide... Bunche Beach is named after Dr Bunche, the first black man to win a Nobel Prize... You'll see the sign that will tell you more... Not very crowded at this time of year, few folks fishing, some paddleboarders... Couple picnic tables, no grills... And this is a NO pets beach, not even service animals as this beach is located on a wildlife preserve and we can not disturb the...

Way cheaper to park at $2 per hour here rather than sanibel being $5 per hour. Less crowded, more wildlife. Hermit crabs, blue crabs, lots of fish. No shower rinse off or restrooms though. I loved that it's not crowded though. There's a picnic table under a tree if you want to have lunch. Shallow water so it's great for kids. Not much parking. I recommend going early in the morning if you want a good spot and peaceful, great views of sanibel bridge and fort myers beach as well. Very beautiful!! I do recommend bringing bug spray though around dusk because of...

Wow! What a great hidden gem of a beach! The parking is $2 an hour. You park and then use the machine to pay. We stayed for four hours! Great sand for making sand castles. Was some small brush and trees to provide shade for our cooler and stuff. The sand at the beginning of the shore has lots of shells. My boys complained that it hurt their feet, it did hurt a bit but once you are 10- 15 foot out it gets softer but kind of sinky. You need to find firm ground in the water if kids are bit apprehensive.
