Stay AWAY from this school, overcharging students, giving false award letters. I say false award letters because after students signed up to attend this schools based on award letter provided they don’t honor it causing students to drop off or seek other schools. Some students even lost the opportunity to attend other prestigious university based on St. Thomas false award letter like my daughter and waste a term seating at home due to St. Thomas lack of professionalism. I emailed Mr. Armstrong assistant Ms. Duran and Mrs. Wagner on April 2nd and I’m still waiting to hear from them. My email was asking to help me schedule a meeting with Mr. Armstrong to provide our horrible experience feedback to help them address their deficiencies to avoid this from happening to other students and get St. Thomas to be once again a prestigious university. Unfortunately nobody seems to care, high employee turnover, my daughter was not assign an advisor; the first day of school she sat in an empty classroom for about an hour to only find out teacher had RESIGNED. They assigned her other clases “online classes” the “free summer classes” is a SCAM.. students pay for 15 credits but they only allow you to take 12. When my daughter questioned them she was told “deal with it” she was denied the right to take 15 credits because since she didn’t have an advisor she skipped classes needed to take prior to attending summer classes. How can that be her fault!? She sat on an empty classroom and then someone assigned her classes because St. Thomas failed to find a replacement professor for her class. They don’t care about teaching, they don’t care about students. I am in the process of reporting them to school board, BBB and news channel because they’re ruin kids life. That’s just financially speaking but can you imagine what impression are this kids getting after high school graduation? My daughter graduated from Coral Reef senior high law magnet program with a high gpa score. She is focused and determined, it’s hard breaking seeing her defeated because they DONT care about her future. She tried speaking to higher administration (Mr. Armstrong) who only gives excuses and zero resolutions. Shame on you Mr. Armstrong and your staff for behaving in such unprofessional, unethical and...
Read morePathetic excuse for an educational institution. If you’re looking to come here for any nursing programs or in particular PMHNP program STAY AWAY! They recycle the syllabus & course content from semester to semester without proper changes. They do not bother to change required books or dues dates. The professor does not even care enough to check if the right test is posted for the right week. Last class, a test was posted was one week off of required reading material. There is not ONE single lecture to teach this complex material. Not one!! I could not believe a “university” is teaching providers who will care for the community without one single live or recorded lecture!!! This is the true live example of a nursing diploma mill. Beyond unethical. They focus more on APA than actual content of the class. Last semester the professor/director changed required book mid semester! Who does that!?! Each class is only 8 weeks long…yeah sound nice but not enough time. By the time you realize these classes are a SHAM it’s too late to drop. I’m sure these 8week long classes are enough time to get people through as fast as they can for max profit. They adamantly refuse to help with clinical placement. Very unorganized and detrimental to the integrity of the nursing practice. I wrote my congressmen to stop these atrocities. COVID is over. We do not need these ridiculous online classes anymore. Go to class. Collaborate. Interact. Ask questions. Be accountable for your education....
Read moreMy daughter was accepted to STU for Fall 2018 and was awarded the Presidential Award. We did all the proper paper work and asked the necessary question. We traveled from the V.I. to Miami in time for the opening of the dorms. After doing all the processing ID, room key, checking the dorm room and making sure that everything was ok. We went back to the business office to hand in another scholarship check and make sure that her account was good. That is when we almost had an HEART ATTACK! at this moment we are now being told about an obserbant balance and that the balance and it has to be paid by this semester and next semester has another balance. We were so heart broken and devasted. We were sent to Financial Aid to see if anything could be done to get no help but be told we can try another school or Miami Dade and I was like "Are you serious, where would she live. We are not from here"! They then proceded to send us to the Office of Student Affairs who tried to pull a rabbit out of their hat. In the end my daughter decided along with me to withdraw from the school and return home which now cost me another airfare, lodging and transportation. My daughter was sooooo heartbroken! What an EXPERIENCE!!!! I hope that no one goes through what we did. It was in deed a...
