Archaeological History museum, nature trails, golf and country club. The museum in the country club has a lot of info. I did not look around the country club but apparently they serve alcohol. There are nice restrooms at the entrance and a wonderful museum with the history of the different people that lived here long before us. 12.00 fee to get in beyond the gates...you can get to the canoe launch without paying as it is on the opposite side of the street. We went to the very last trail which is to the actual Shawnee Lookout. This trail is covered with pawpaw trees which were bearing fruit. It is well manicured and there are a couple of benches along the trail and at the end. It is a moderate uphill climb but mostly downhill on the way back which takes you across a flat area at the top of the ridge.
The Vista overlooks 275 South and a train trestle bridge 275 South is over the Ohio River and the trestle bridge is over the Great Miami. They call this area the oxbow because of the bend in the...
Read moreThis park has some of the best trails (Little turtle which has a great view of the ohio river, miami fort which has one of the best views of hamilton county parks on a trail split which shows train tracks, a few bridges and the river, and Blue Jacket which has raspberries and fruits along with a pretty scenic environment.) It has two play grounds and shelters, and two bathrooms along with a clubhouse with a small museum and giftshop, with an additional bathroom. Across the street there is a canoe access trail and a boatramp (which is in poor condition however I have seen a couple people launch boats from it.) There are plenty of picnic tables and grills. Other things worth seeing in the park are the old school house and logcabin, along with the indian mound and the canoe access beach which has some good sights. The other notable thing about this park is the birds. Because of the valley and geography of the park, the park is a favorite of both birds and...
Read moreWe have went to this park a lot when I was a kid and I have taken my kids here a lot too. It is a very beautiful park. Their are some trails that go thru the woods and have such nice views of the river and surrounding areas. It has 2 play areas both have picnic tables and grills near by so you can have a get together or birthday party and be able to keep an eye on the kids while grilling and everything. Their is also an area that has an old cabin and school house across from where there are Indian burial grounds. I haven't been here in a while but their use to be 2 restroom areas that had water fountains. My kids always ask when we are in the area if we can go to this park and take a trail and...
