Historic Route 66 RibbonRoad-SidewalkHighway. Completed in 1922 as Federal Highway Project No. 8. Running 15.46 miles from Miami to Afton. The only remaining section of original pavement on the old Route 66 system was taken out of service in 1937. A National Register of Historic Places Site.

It's very unfortunate that the historical society has allowed it to fall into ruins. It needs to be tended to and possibly paved in spots. In spots, it was just a narrow dirt road. My HR-V did just fine traveling it though. We enjoyed this part of our Route 66 tour. A very nice Miami, OK officer told us about the spot, and highly recommended it. I thank him for his service and much...

We ventured into Oklahoma as long the sun would allow them we turned and headed for home. If you're traveling Route 66, this is...
