I visited this apple orchard recently. Immediately upon entering there was confusion as to where to park. Nobody was there to guide you. There is an open field and people were just parking anywhere they wanted to. The map that they hand you explaining where the apples are is a series of letters that you have to translate using a reference. Once in the field most of the rows have a marker hanging from the first tree indicating what type of apples are in that row. However, the markers are not on every row and not on each side of the row so oftentimes you are left guessing which type of apples you are looking at. Additionally, many of the trees are very small and so were the apples. We then decided to just purchase some pre-picked apples and the selection was very thin. After driving an hour to get there this was disappointing. We decided to drive to county line orchard which is a madhouse of people but the selections...

We had a terrible experience with the owner serving us - who we found was rude and aggressive from the moment we asked to pick apples in the orchard. I‘m a British born Asian, and when asking for a plastic bag, he’d aggressively say ‘What exactly do YOU people want?!‘ and he kept on referring to myself and my family as ’You people’ which made everyone feel uncomfortable. We got the expression he didn’t want to help us, serve us or even be present at the orchard. The owner was impatient and would heavily sigh and tut when we were adding products to our shopping list. My family were nothing but polite with every intention of buying from their business. I’m still gobsmacked with how they could speak and treat another human the way they did. I would avoid this orchard at all costs and visit the other beautiful orchards...

So I have gotten to know Ruth who is part of the family of Radke's and also is a teacher of music and helps at the Canterbury theater in Michigan City 🎶🎭thank you Ruth👍 and she makes the donuts 🥯at Radke's.. is there anything this family can't do at their '100-year-old' apple orchard ?!! Ask them about the HISTORY of their farm it will knock your apples off the trees and put them right in your bag LOL RADKE'S is a great place... just be patient when you're parking your🚗🚙 and make sure that you eat the donuts while you're there (even if you're not a policeman) LOL and by the way there's so many different VARIETIES of apples it will make your Apple core spin 🤪enjoy every minute of your visit to Radke's and remember what this family did to make your life more FUN and enjoyable 100 years ago, to...

Was at Radke Orchards for the opening of apple picking season. Radke Orchards has been family operated since 1894. This was my first time going apple picking. We arrived to smiling friendly faces. Was treated to a tractor pulled wagon ride down into the orchard. There were so many different choices to choose from. It was such an enjoyable experience. Took my time going down rows and rows and discovering all different types of apples. Ate a few as I went along. The trees are shorter for easy picking. I love this place! No fancy commercial over kill. Free admission and parking. Apples are reasonably priced. Looking forward to returning before apple picking season ends.

Radke’s has become one of our favorite start of fall traditions. We love that it isn’t gimmicky with petting zoos, long lines and parking directors - just a small storefront and apple orchards. On Saturday’s and Sunday’s they offer apple cider donuts and fritters. They also have the standard varieties everyone loves like Fuji, honeycrisp, galas, Jonathan’s, but they also have some really neat heirlooms. We also love that it’s dog friendly! Thanks Radke’s for letting us bring our furry family member to enjoy the fun!
