We were very disappointed in our recent visit to this vineyard. We reserved an umbrella table for 2 hours at the cost of $50 beginning at 12:00 noon. On their website they ask that you arrive 10 - 15 minutes early to check in. We stood at the door which remained locked until exactly 12:00 noon. At that timer we proceeded to purchase a bottle of Tranquility Lily wine that we saw for sale on their website for $42.00. Upon purchasing this wine we were told that this particular wine was available for sale to only wine club members. You could go on their website and purchase it for $42.00. We were charged $60.00 because of not being members. By this time it was 12:20pm. Twenty minutes of their precious 2 hour table time allotment.
Next we ordered food from Brewbury, their affiliated restaurant. We were charged for delivery with tip for the driver. That was all fine. However, when the food was delivered the driver calls me to tell me he was here, but, he had no idea what to do next. I could barely understand his English and yet somehow I related to him that he needed to bring the food into the tasting room of the winery, as if this has never been done before. Someone from the winery kindly brought the food out to our table The food was good but it was if they didn't expect us to eat it. There were no utensils or napkins. Just food containers.
We have been to many wineries, both in Connecticut, around the US and Europe. Our experience tells us this is not a winery that is organized and is more interested in making money than pleasing their guests. We have also eaten at the Vyne restaurant a couple of times and enjoyed it very much.
Needless to say we will not be returning to this...
Read moreI can’t say enough good things about this vineyard. My husband and I have been to almost 60 vineyards together in the CT/ NY area mostly, and this is a must visit. They have plans for a huge expansion aimed to be completed in September but even how it is now, it’s amazing. The tasting room is beautiful with room for about 10 people at a time. I suggest making a reservation online prior to your visit. Dean, the owner, was the one who walked us through our tasting. We opted to do the tour/tasting for $40/ person. It’s worth every penny and I suggest everyone do it. We tasted the finished/bottled 2022 wines first (we got to pick) then we tasted the unfinished 2023 wines that were still fermenting in the barrels. Of all the Vineyards I’ve been to, this was never an option and was such a special experience. We were able to compare and contrast the wines. The 2022 Muscat was a little too sweet for my palette but the unfinished 2023 Muscat was the perfect balance for my taste. I also don’t love red wine but I loved all the reds they had, they were well balanced with a smooth finish. My favorite was the Sangiovese, Sauvignon Blanc and Rosè. I hope they make a sparkling option selfishly because I love sparkling wines. Out of all the vineyards in this general area, skip the others and come here. 100/10 recommend, you won’t regret it! I can’t wait to come back when the weather is nicer to enjoy their outdoor space. Thank you Dean & team for an incredible experience and cheers to the incredible...
Read moreHad the pleasure of trying out this new winery today and my wife and I were very pleased with the experience. Every year we try to search out new wineries in CT and visit our favorites throughout the state. We noticed tastings were supposed to be by reservation but we were in the area and figured it was worth at least checking out the property. Dean (the owner) happen to be outside when we pulled in and although he was on his way to another business he was nice enough to let us do a tasting! Dean explained the history about the property, the winemaker he selected and a bit about himself while we tasted his wines. With two people you can try all 8 wines pretty easily and the pours were quite large so plan for that. :) The best part of the visit is with new wineries I typically don’t expect all the wines to be stellar since vines could be young, winemaker could be experimenting or not seasoned at the process but this was not the case at Tranquility. I enjoyed every wine, even the two sweeter options which I do not gravitate towards normally but they were all excellent!! All were very smooth, matched the provided descriptions and were very well balanced. I can not wait to revisit Tranquility and see the progress with the rest of their property along with drinking their excellent wines! Dean thanks again for sharing some time with us and I look forward chatting with you more over...
