I have never written a nasty review or even thought about posting one, but your rink is the most miserable rink I have ever been to watch a game. It’s so cold there and has no protection for people in the stands. I suffered a terrible blow to the face from a puck because you are too cheap to put up netting for the people watching. I am a grandmother of two boys that was playing when I was hit with the puck, had to be taken to hospital, and required surgery for a fractured nose. They didn’t even have a Medical Examiner on hand…. They said it’s not required for tournaments, why not??? Doesn’t your rink get paid to have tournaments there? It would be the decent thing to have for the safety of the young adults playing snd fighting on the ice and nobody to make sure they are looked at if they are hurt. They didn’t even have an ice pack, we had to get ice in a baggie from the snack shop. This is the first time I have said bad things about a rink but your rink is the worst rink I have been to. I hope my grandchildren never have to play there again, for their safety. I also notice that you only remark to reviews that say nice things about your rink so it shows you really don’t care about making it a better...
Read moreThe rink itself is an average ice pad for hockey. It is a little dim in there but it is clean and has plenty of seating. Players and fans have to climb a flight or two of stairs to enter the rink which is less than ideal. There is a place for food but it was not open the two times we were there.
It was disappointing on how inconsistent and lopsided the referees were in calling penalties. If a player deserves a penalty then call it, but you have to do so for both teams. The home team benefitted from numerous power plays.
The referee also called a very clear non goal a goal even though he was outside the hash marks when he called it. It wasn’t even a shot on net because it hit the cross bar, dropped in the blue paint, and then was covered. Again, the home team benefited.
Lastly, and most disappointing was how an adult, a parent of one of the home team players, gave two middle fingers to our players who celebrated at the glass in front of the stands. The 14 year olds deciding to celebrate in that location was not necessarily the best decision, however I would hope that an adult with a player the same age would have better discretion especially since they wouldn’t want their child to be...
