This is a great place for a mental break. I stopped here on a whim and ended up spending two hours.
There are lots of little (short) trails to explore that are interconnected; each has its charm.
Dog Wood is beautiful and quaint, lots of great smells and sounds. It was short, but my favorite.
From God Wood I got onto Tatum Ramble, which was nice for checking out New Jersey's tall trees. This trail is wider and had a few bikers on it. It is a bit longer and connected to Meadow Run and Indian Springs.
Meadow Run is the longest trail. It connects the meadows of the park, which all kind of look the same. If you are shorter on time, I recommend the other trails first, unless you really love meadows.
Indian springs is a cute narrow trail that makes you feel as though you are sneaking through the woods. I really enjoyed this one, but it goes along the road for quite a bit which can be noisy.
I only have this park 4 stars because it is on the small side, there is some road noise, and I found some of the directions a bit confusing. Overall it is a Great place for a day walk -- not at all challenging and quite relaxing. It is well...
Read moreI visited the playground with my husband and daughter around 11AM. There were a few other mom/kid duos playing at the big kid equipment. It was fairly clean with the exception of some snow piles, which I don't think could have been avoided. The scenery was beautiful but I wish we weren't the only adults wearing masks. Even though we are outside, with the children playing on the same equipment, you could not social distance in this area once it hit noon. It is not the park's fault or something that could be controlled, but I was disappointed so many parents were willing to be...
Read moreNice 5+ miles trail with around 200ft elevation gain. Trail can get confusing at time so highly recommend to use a trail map / app. June onwards there are lot of nice flowers on the trail. I love the sweet smell of flowers during summer months. Recommend to start from the left side of park and come out from the children’s playground side (basically clockwise). There are picnic benches to sit down and enjoy at various spots. Also, you can visit the deep cut gardens across the street and enjoy the nice garden views...
