This was my first time ever going to "Frightland". I've seen it from Rt.1 for five years, since we moved to southern Delaware. I don't do Holloween and was truly never interested in participating in it's festivities. The reason I decided to give it a shot was, recently my husband of forty years and I just started dating again. We have friends who date frequently, (twenty-five year married) that were determined not to get into the rut my husband and myself fell into. Sooo...as one of our date night themes, I decided to take advantage of this time of the season for a fun, fright filled, double date night.

From the time we parked our car awaiting the other couple's arrival, we got a chance to meet Mike, a parking lot attendant here, of 20 years. We booked Saturday TICKETS for 9:00, and our friends were running terribly late. We told Mike we were on the lookout for them, but needed to get a place in line so we wouldn't be turned away for being late, per Fightland's online policy. He was awesome! He assured us he'd BOLO for them on our behalf. Remembering their names, car make and color of the car, he assured us he would let them park up front where the entry lines were so they'd have a better chance of catching u freep with us. He did! They were able to meet up with us and all was well. OMG! We had a great night! 😂

Every staff member we encountered was Amazing. Having met Mike😝 representing Your Facility from the start, one would think..." Well...he'll be the only person like that here. They'll all be serious and about business as usual, because of this covid, mask wearing😷 stuff" NOPE! Everybody, and I mean Everybody was Awesome! Great demeanors! 😄😊☺️ Everyone, from Mike, to gate entrance security, to event Staff (those of whom prepared us for their particular section of fright) to Ticket scanners, to Alli and Dave, ( five year voluteers) who offered to buy water for me, after I got overheated and stepped aside to rest, forgoing the "Haunted Barn" attraction. The Security officer worked with me to assure me it was ok to rest, with my husband in the graveyard section with my mask off so I could breathe. Yeah, I'm one of those people who fright Easily and Run as though my life depended on it. Great job, by the way, you ghouls🤡👺👿👹 and goblin's👻☠️! Job very well done! You know you've done your job😱when you can get people to pee on themselves!😂 👍🏽!

Several other Security staff saw me with my head down to which Not One of them dismissed me and my husband's presence in the graveyard. Several of them even offered medical assistance. I mean I can't say enough about You Great people! ❤️

Finally, we finished our activities and we're leaving. When I got in my car and noticed I couldn't find my phone. Immediately my husband went back to see if he could find it. Going through the Exit area, he stopped by security. Guess what... someone had turned in my phone. Security made sure it was mine by asking my husband what it looked like. They called the number and...Volah! I got my phone back! WHEW! That for me was the scariest experience all night! No offense Frightland. Our friends (the other couple) thanked me for the suggestion and we're all still talking about what a great time of laughter😂🤣😅, fright😱 and giggles😆 we had there, for first time visitors. Mission accomplished Frightland! I had such a wonderful experience, I intend to invite my friends and family next year!

Anyway...."Frightland" y'all da bomb! I love you guys!❤️❤️❤️❤️

I officially wrapped up my halloween haunts for 2022 with Frightland and I've got to say that this was one of the best attractions.

I've noticed most low reviews are complaining about wait times and after going myself, I was able to see what actually happens.

The parking lot itself is huge and there's endless land to park on, so space isn't an issue. The issue here is the wait itself to get into parking. Our party waited about 20-25 minutes but I can imagine on busier days it's probably worse. It would've been better if they had two or three lanes as opposed to one big lane to get into the park and that's essentially why there's a long wait. If there's 200+ cars getting in, it's only one person checking everyone in so expect to wait. This didn't ruin my experience because my review is based off the haunt itself and not the parking. (most low reviews aren't actually criticizing the haunt but the wait times, because the haunt itself is one of the best in the country).

Anywho, the attractions are well over a hour and excluding the very last one, all the haunts/attractions are lengthy. Each attraction felt as if it was a solid 15-20 minutes minimum.

A hayride, haunted house, trail, etc., this place has it all.

The brains/team/person that brought these attractions to life, they have it absolutely figured out with how to play your fears. Many other attractions will generally have lit areas or well lit areas, but this place truly and powerfully brings you into the darkness. Limited vision is in all attractions and I loved that.

Another thing this place does well is that they don't just design linear paths and hold your hand, there's many areas that are maze-like and you can't just touch walls to guide yourself through the darkness, this really challenges you in a healthy way.

Now as for specific attractions, the hayride itself is extremely dark for the whole duration, and this added lots of immersion. The ride also included impressive animatronics and the coolest fire effects I've ever seen. There's one sequence that truly stands out, this was the carnival rollercoaster scene (you have to witness it to appreciate it!)

My favorite attractions however, were the attic and the manor.

The manor was a touch experience and the actors were very interactive. The house itself felt truly eerie, it's also as if the scares for the manor were perfected and every room had a story. It truly transformed you into a horror movie with the sound effects, old carpet smell, dark areas, creepy characters inside etc.

The attic on the other hand was a mind bending experience, you navigate through mostly darkness and bit of spoiler but you're also in a maze of mirrors and you can't always touch walls to guide yourself, you have to use your brain a bit and it was fun. The actors inside were also bringing in pleasant jump scares.

The only minor negative I have is that for one of the attractions, we were let in without spacing whatsoever. So it was essentially a group of 10-12 but for all the other 7 attractions, we were spaced out and mostly on our own. It was just odd to pair such a big group and have the scares be telegraphed. I don't remember the name of the attraction but one of the scenes included the drinking bar and two actors.

Overall, there's too many good things to say about all the attractions. This and Reapers Revenge from PA are my all time favorites. I drove all the way from NYC -- Delaware and it was...

If you choose to do the haunted hayride, you are FORCED to do ALL of the other attractions. There's no option to just exit if you don't want to do it all. My boyfriend and I went there on Saturday 10/28 around 6:30. We decided to do the haunted hayride. I should have done some research because I assumed it was a round trip hayride, but it's not. The hayride itself was fun. We got dropped off and waited in a short line to walk back. On your way back there are about 4 or 5 haunted houses/buildings you have to go through. I was a little annoyed because I wasn't expecting it (my fault for not looking up anything or asking beforehand), but at that point I was still having fun. I thought it was over, and it looked like we were back. We looked for an exit and there wasn't any, So we followed everyone and we were herded into another line, and waited in a line for about a half hour to forty five minutes. When I got to the line that's when I realized it wasn't over... we had to go through yet another house... and an attic!. I also didn't appreciate one of the actors screaming at me at the top of her lungs to move up ( less than a foot) in the line. Grant you she is an actor, and she was acting, but you need to to read the audience... I was visibly upset before she yelled at me, and that made it so much worse. I was over it and really upset at this point. I don't like to feel trapped and forced to do things that I have no desire to do. I was hot, (it was 68 degrees and humid) irritable, and tired. The last attraction was awful. It was so dark inside both buildings that I couldn't see a thing, and it was very hard to navigate our way out because of it. There wasn't anyone in front of us. Luckily my boyfriend is good with navigating, so I asked him to get in front of me.There's not enough exit signs to guide your way out of the house, or the attic. I Forgot to mention that the actors get to touch you. When it was finally over we just left. I really wanted to ride the ferris wheel when we first got there, but I was done. I honestly would have given four or five stars if there was an option to not have to do the entire attraction. Edited to recommend if you go, go early. We got there at 6:30 and we got parking right away and there was no line to get into the park. There was a short line for the hayride, but it...
