One of the highlights of Kensington Metropark is its picturesque landscape, featuring rolling hills, woodlands, and meadows. The park is centered around Kent Lake, a 1,200-acre body of water that offers opportunities for fishing, boating, and kayaking. Whether you're casting a line from the shore or paddling along the tranquil waters, there's no shortage of ways to enjoy the lake's beauty.

Read moreFavorite park ever! Miles and miles to walk, run, bike, skate. So much to do and observe. We have seen tons of birds, turtles, and turkeys in the wild while walking here. The park is always clean and well kept. The farmhouse area is very nice and you can see pigs, goats, donkeys, and sheep...great for little kids. There is even the Farmhouse Grill, nothing fancy, but you can get ice cream, a burger, hot dog, soda and a few other items. We tried a burger and it was ok for a frozen patty (around $5.25 with chips and drink). The farmers market held every Saturday (9-3pm) isn't huge. There were only a few vendors when we visited: bee keeper, soap maker, salsa maker, guitarist, and a park representative. We were told that they also have a baker and a produce farmer but they were unable to attend that weekend. Martindale Beach is fun...it has sand and grass to sit on but bring a blanket, as there are goose and other bird droppings around. In the water the bottom is mostly sand with some small rocks, not slimy. At the buoy the water is a little less than 6 feet deep. There is a splash pad and water slide near the beach for an extra charge, but it closes usually at 7pm There is also a concession stand at Martindale Beach. They also have canoe, rowboat, kayak (one and two person), and paddle boat rentals (purple dinosaurs, rubber duckies and swans!!). Boat rentals are reasonable. It was $15 for an hour paddleboat and life jackets. Rowboats are $7/hour, canoes and kayaks $8/hour. What else...frisbee golf, fishing, and more...this park is great! Monday through Thursday it is not very crowded. Make a point to spend the day here, if you like to be outdoors you won't be...
