Maple Beach — Attraction in Milford Charter Township

The playground is absolutely amazing! The ground is made of this bouncy rubber material so if a kid falls the likelihood of an injury is so much less. The playground is innovative and has equipment I've never even seen. I've been to many parks with my kids but never seen equipment like this. The kids had a blast and played for hours without getting bored.

I do have a few complaints though. There aren't nearly enough accessible BBQs or picnic tables. The beach was practically mud and the water was filled with algae and seaweed. The kids didn't even want to get in. Luckily we were able to find an area of the lake that was a bit clearer. Also the bathrooms were locked when we first got there. That was at 2pm in the afternoon. Kensington is a beautiful park all around and Maple beach is no exception. But what isn't mentioned online is after paying $10 to get into the park, you also have to pay to use the splash-pad. And it's not cheep! Anyone over 30 inches it's $6! My 2 year old is 32 inches. Ha! My wife and I were obviously not going to use the water, but rather we were only going to watch our son and it would have cost us $18. However, the beach is great and free! I understand that the management are unable to keep any lifeguard for what ever reason.... but I don’t understand why there is no changing room or a clean up place. The beach are is dirty. The water is dirty. It’s like get in the water and take the dirty stuff with you at home. You probably can stop your self not to get in the water. But not your kids.
