First off Iām not a new pet owner, we have had two dogs long term over the last 23 years. When our dog recently passed it left a hole in our lives and we started looking to find new puppies which led us locally to Stowe. We started looking at one Cockapoo pup and ended up getting two(male and female litter mates). Far from inexpensive we quickly fell in love with these two. Didnāt think much about the disclaimer on the agreement after seven days stating it was our issue if the pups had issues. I mean who would ever give them back even after a short time?? Maybe thatās a known, and we had the assurances that all shots and deworming were up to date. On day nine our little lady pup woke up extremely sick and we were actually afraid she might not make it through the night. We took her to a late night 24 hour clinic and she was bad enough they kept her over night and gave her IVs and additional treatments . Both pups were diagnosed with the parasite Giardia which supposedly they were inoculated against. It cost us just under $2000 that night between the two of them but I guess if it had been two days earlier we could have brought them back, Come on, Really?!?! So now after feeling better, a month later we had our follow up with our vet and they both have Giardia still and also diagnosed with hookworm which can be caught the same way but was never tested last month. We are loving responsible owners and will do whatever it takes to make sure these little babies are happy and healthy but I would very much warn anyone against taking it too lightly if you decide to decide to have dealings with this farm. We were never allowed to see beyond the front counter so had no idea what kind of living conditions these puppies or the parents existed in. All interactions were very controlled and now we find ourselves wondering what kind of things they were exposed to to come out with so many health issues. I never bothered contacting them because deep down I know it would have done no good based on the initial disclaimer. Also I want to be clear I seek no reimbursement for any of these medical expenses. What I do want is everyone to be aware they should enter these dealings aware and informed. We would not trade these pups for the world but we believed the best and were disappointed with the level of transparency. Based on that we felt others should know...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy review is about the puppies that Stowe Farm sells. The two given stars are due to the fact that I LOVE my puppy and despise all the lies and fake promises, I would never return her. Plus she is healthy and gorgeous. The problem is on how the deal was done. I contacted Maura regarding a puppy I saw on PuppyFind. She told me she was half Australian Shepherd and half Cattle dog and I could see one of parents at the farm, but the other didnāt live there. When we got there, they just dropped the puppy with us in a room and went to show another puppy to other couple. When we asked about the parents, they again told me she was an Australian Shepherd and Cattle dog mix, but none was at the farm at the moment. We paid and took the puppy, no questions asked or answered. The ad where we found her promised 2 sets of vaccines, de-worming and flea treatments done before she had to go home. When we got her we were told she had only 1 set. When we took her to the vet, we didnāt have any papers or health record to prove what vaccines she had, so my vet tried to contact them, but nobody picked up or called back. I had to give her all the vaccines she was supposed to already have done again and paid for it. The website also says all the puppies bought at the farm came with an hour of training for free, a bed, two nights of boarding and microchip for bigger breeds. None of those were honored. When we contacted them about it, Maura said that our puppy was ācheaperā than she should be, therefore they would not honor what was promised. Last, but not least, we just got the results of the DNA test we got done on our puppy from the Stowe Farm. She has NONE Australian Shepherd on her! One of her parents is a purebred SIBERIAN HUSKY, and the other is a mix of a Cattle dog with something else. We love her and weāll do whatever is needed to take great care of her, but we were not expecting or planning to have a big dog like a Husky right now and we feel disrespected by the lies and fake promises of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHad to leave a review because I am so grateful and impressed and will definitely make it a point to go again!! I stopped by with my 2.5 year old daughter halfway through a very long drive between CT and MA. She had an absolute BLAST getting to see all of the animals (and feed them too-they have it easily set up for families to grab the snacks for the animals) and she was overjoyed running around the playground area, complete with her latest favorite: slides!! There was not an entrance fee yet they still had everything set up for an amazing afternoon: hot chocolate, petting zoo, playground area, and we even got to see a mama horse with her five month old baby horseāagain, all of this with no cost. There are so many great things to say!! We made an impromptu Christmas tree purchase: beautiful healthy tree, and they were so kind and helpful wrapping it for us and carrying it to our car and making sure it fit and we were good to go!! Since getting home and setting it up, I chatted with a few friends and learned that our tree was by far the best value anyone had heard of ($45). On top of all that, they also gave everyone purchasing Christmas trees a free, enormous bag of their orchard apples!! After a tough weekend and a lot of time in the car, this was an amazing, truly wonderful experience for my toddler and for me and I am so glad we found it!! Thank you...
