My whole family loves going here! We enjoy fishing either in the bay or on the lake, swimming as well. Perfect place for a picnic, bike riding, catching some rays, going on a boat tour, checking out the light houses etc. We are always seeing alot of different wildlife too. Thankful that the speed is posted with them in mind. A few weeks ago, the person in the lane next to us was going a little faster than he should've been & we almost watched a whole turkey family get wiped out. We were surprised & let out a huge sigh of relief, including the driver, when the babies & mama were able to finish crossing the road!! (If the turkeys were half a second slower, it would've been a terrible outcome!) Restrooms are located at different areas through the park along with areas to shower. I know there's a playground located by the ponds & also a nice newer one located at beach 11. There's a few different walking trails that go through the woods, so it's always a good idea to dress properly & use bug spray that works on ticks. I believe there's signs that say some areas are highly populated tick areas. Always a good idea to check yourselves when you get home to make sure there's none on you. Dog friendly as long as your dog is leashed & you clean up after it. ATTN: PARK RANGERS! Please educate your rangers/workers on the monarch butterfly! I had a ranger lecturing me about helping monarch caterpillars, saying they've done just fine by themselves for thousands & thousands of years, they don't need our help & people need to not get involved, that mother nature will take care of it. I was honestly shocked at what I was hearing! I badly wanted to say even my 10 year old knows that the monarch isn't doing fine, not when it's so close to being put on the endangered species list!

Wow! I love this state park. It's my first time visiting. There is no cost to enter and use this park. There are so many landmarks, restrooms, concessions, beaches, parking, flaring boathouses, geese, and hiking trails. I only planned to visit this park once during my stay in this area, but with my flexible schedule, I'm going back tomorrow. Today we hiked 2 mile round trip to the North Point Lighthouse, walked Beach 11, and saw the tall Perry's Monument. Met a nice couple who found a painted rock hidden at the Perry's Monument Park area. Pretty neat. Not sure if the rocks are hidden everywhere throughout the park. There are so many bike friendly trails and there are fat tire bikes that you can rent. The tires are FAT. There are different activities like boating, fishing, etc... A great place for families. There are picnic tables throughout the park, and BBQ grill with huge concrete cylinders for hot charcoal disposal. So much history. In most section of the park you can see the Hammermill Three Sister Stacks across the water. Note that it can be windy in some area, particularly along the water causing the temperature to be cooler. I'm glad I wore pants instead of shorts. This is a beautiful park. I likely will go back the next 2 days.

First time visiting. Went on 4th of July 930am-2pm. Used beach #10. The beach was nice but it's not a swim at your own risk apparently- life guard told us we weren't allowed to go in the water unless we relocated to the right side of their cone which wasn't there when we arrived. No hot coals bin. No dumpster. Bathrooms overflowing and dirty, one stall was covered in vomit, won't mention the others... no soap. No private showers just a spickett in front of the men's room. No curtains to change in the bathroom.I can't say I expected better but I also couldn't say it was a 5 star experience lol. I'll try a different beach next time. Lighthouse wasn't very impressive and we didn't go in, kids under 44" can't go in so we would've had to pay and take turns anyway. Prices pictured. Gift shop was cute. Nice staff. Reasonable prices. Weather was perfect. No shells but lots of smooth rocks. We brought our own tabletop grill. Lots of kites being flown, fun to watch. A lot of watercraft. Didn't see a playground anywhere but heard there's one, not at beach 10 for sure. There were some dogs here so it must be pet friendly- I know some people were asking which beaches were.

I've come here as a child and an adult and I have loved it every time. It's one of PA's largest state parks. It's one of the best parks I've ever been to. I think of it as the ocean 4 hours closer to my house. There are nice beaches for swimming with lifeguards on duty. There are many inlets and ponds, great for kayaking, and boating. There are rental places for kayaks, bikes and more. There are bike trails/walking trails that are paved and very nice. We rented a surrey, which I've always wanted to do, and it was fun, but be sure to bring water. The surreys had their own trail, which was more limited than the regular bike trail. There is lots of history here with lighthouses, nature, ships, Oliver Hazard Perry, and more. This year the Presque Isle Lighthouse was open to the public for the first time, after years of being used for park employees and then renovated to the condition in the 1900s. This is a great place to get out and be in nature.

This is a state park that is also an island in the very northern part of Pennsylvania. It's free to enter. This is a highly biked and jogged state park. There's a long paved trail along the southern rim of the island. Along the northern rim of the island, there's multiple beaches, each with signage and parking. The sand was so soft and clean. I visited Beach 3 and Beach 8, I believe. 8 was far cleaner as far as debris goes. There's restrooms all over in this park. There's a lighthouse and gift shop that's only open on weekends according to the sign. There's apparently bike rental, but I could t find it. I love going up yo the "House Boats" in the farthest area, near the coastal guard area. There was HUGE fish in with the house boats. I wish I had more time to walk some of the trails and lounge at the beach. This is a great stop to add on your road trips or if you're nearby, a great day trip.
