A section of this game lands borders the Kennerdell tract of the Clear Creek State Forest. That state forest contains a wonderful network of trails for hiking. Get a map and it's easy to plan walks of two or three or more hours that take in Allegheny River frontage, a beautiful stream, forests on the plateau and the hills connecting them. A hike that includes the Dennison Run Trail, the South Trail and the south end of the River Trail with a little bit of Iron Furnace Trail and Kennerdell trail for connections is one great route that traverses all kinds of terrain.
