I didn’t do the full hike because I biked here from my campground. At the start of the trail is picnic tables, washrooms and parking spaces. No where to secure your bike so I used a tree. There’s bbq pits if you wanna have some grub with the family. The trail is well groomed and clearly marked. There are offshoots though, but they seem to end up in the same spaces. Very rocky and requires good shoes with ankle support and paying attention. No critters other than dragon flies and birds. Lots of webs. Loved the cave aspect. Would be a fantastic full hike to experience. Did not realize Texas had this hidden gem.

This is an absolute MUST for hiking in the Mineral Wells area. The rock formations are incredible to find a peaceful place to meditate, go rappelling (be sure to sign your permission form in the park office), or you can even do a fun Lord of The Rings fantasy photo shoot! Not for you? Grab a rod and head through the hollow to the fishing pier... maybe you can catch the BIG ONE that got away (from my oldest daughter). Bring a snack and water, as the time passes quickly here. Also, beware of poison ivy!

Our group came in for a rock-climbing trip and were pleased to find so many routes and helpful climbers to climb alongside! Be aware that there are two fees if you are coming to climb: 1. A general park entrance fee and 2. A climbing fee. You'll sign a waiver and pay in the front office, but many of the park entrance passes need to be reserved ahead of time due to COVID limitations. We are looking forward to return here when there is warmer weather!

My wife and I are not rock climbers, so all we did was explore the area and take pictures. It it a very interesting geological place and it was fun to look at. Based on the size of the parking areas, I would assume many people come to this place on weekends and holidays. I was very impressed how clean the area is kept. I suspect that the people who use this location are doing a good job of picking up after themselves.

Very nice part of Mineral Wells State Park. It is a short walk from the parking lot to the rock climbing area. There is an awesome view from the stairs. The stairs are fairly easy to navigate but are not all the same width or height. If you have issues with walking they might be tricky. Once you are at the bottom it is a maze like walk around. We don't climb so I can't speak to the challenge of climbing here.
