We were in town for the first time and drove past this establishment and the muscadine vineyard perched atop one of Central Florida’s rolling hills caught our attention. We called to find out about the tours and learned that the self guided tours were FREE and they had live music and food offered by Poor Boy BBQ.
The greeter at the entrance was super friendly and she suggested we start out with the self guided tour before heading out back to the live music and food.
Every station host of the tour was very informative welcoming and knowledgeable. We did not make it to the second floor but did visit the gift shop which had a large selection of branded products.
Large old oak trees draped over the area out back offering adequate shade for us to sit at the picnic tables provided and enjoy the wine selections available to purchase. Once we found a seat, the live musician “Beautiful Bobby” Blackmon greeted us personally as well as most of the other people in the audience which we thought was a nice touch.
While we didn’t eat there because we had already eaten prior to, the food from Poor Boy BBQ smelled and looked amazing! It looked like everyone eating it was loving it.
We would highly recommend adding this as a stop on your itinerary while visiting...
Read moreLoved being part of a wedding proposal wine tasting 😉 Eddie took my husband and I on a tour of the winery with another couple. He made it a fun experience as we tasted 9 different wines. All was complimentary. What we weren't expecting was the surprise marriage proposal that happened to the other woman with us. Eddie turned on the bubbles, literally, and there was the happy moment. So glad we got this experience. Thank you everyone!
Update: Second time here we had the pleasure of touring with Jessica, and getting our tasting served by Jessica and Lori. Large crowd and they were pros! Southern Red and Strawberry Slushie mix is what I purchased, but the Peach Slushie was what we tried, as well as 8 different wines. Muscadine is their specialty.
Update: Third time here and we were allowed to bring our brand new family member, Bridget. A special shout out Allison, Thomas and Deb for making this a special Valentine's visit for us. This time we went home with Mulled Wine mix and Blueberry Slushie mix, as well as their own Special Bubbly... Pink Crescendo.
Update: 4th time here. It's official. Our dog Bridget is a regular. Our favorite place to come now. Went home with the Proprietor's Reserve. A great dessert wine or special occasion wine.
Thank...
Read moreWhat a beautiful Saturday afternoon at Lakeridge Winery, and Vineyards in Clermont. We did the free tasting first. The tasting consists of 6 little samples. The employees pouring the samples told about each of the different wines, they were all knowledgeable and very friendly. After our tasting, we settled into our chairs on the large lawn, facing the bandstand. The lawn area overlooks the vineyards, as well as the rolling hills of Central Florida. There was a single singer entertaining that afternoon. There is entertainment on the weekends from 12 noon to 4 PM. There are food vendors on site, as well as the winery, selling glasses of wine and snacks. You cannot bring your own food or wine to the winery. If purchasing from the vendors, a credit card fee is charged. As the afternoon wore on the lawn filled up more. After enjoying the entertainment, a glass of wine and the beautiful day , we went to the gift shop. The gift shop has all the available wines as well as some really cool gift items. Many of the wines are made with the Florida muscadine grape, which is sweet.
There are also daily30 minute tours from 10 AM to 4 PM.
Lakeridge is Florida's largest premium winery. I recommend a visit to Lakeridge Winery when you are in the...
