I used this memorial to teach my son about Memorial Day and what it is. I’ve driven by it many times but never took the time to stop and check it out until now. For a small town memorial, this is quite impressive. It’s very large and is almost something you’d expect to see in a much bigger city, so it was pretty cool, and a great choice for giving my son a lesson. The walkway to the inside had a guest book which I thought was kinda neat also. Looked like a bunch of stuff was missing from cabinets that were empty, but maybe I just caught it in between seasonal decorations or something. The flags are quite spectacular, not something I ever noticed from the road driving by, only the big crow. Not really sure what the crow has to do with the memorial, but at least it makes it stand out and peaks your curiosity to look closer. Seems like the perfect kind of park where a splash pad and playground would go well with behind it or to the side of it. It’s got a nice big sidewalk walking path that I’m sure is intended for walkers to hey some exercise, just because of how large and long the path is. The town should be proud, it’s very well done and...

This is such a cute little park. I was really surprised at how nice it was, especially the picnic area, because I didn't realize there was much there other than the crow statue itself. But there are flags from every US state, plus a bunch of flags from nations local people had come from historically, and inside of the base of the crow is like a tiny mini museum about how the crow and flags and such came to be there. It was a lovely place to stop for a picnic and the grass was freshly mowed so it was perfect for our kids to run around a bit while they tried to figure out which flag was which. I'll definitely stop here again when traveling...

Neat and tidy rest area and memorial. Crow is quite remarkable. Only a porta potty here and I think I remember a drinking fountain. A huge dog wandered over from an adjacent home and adored our petting and was clearly very accustomed to being around children. There is a graveyard adjacent to here. It was nice to walk around with the kids while grandma found relatives names...

The crew statue is 43 feet tall and 30 feet wide. It Seth's 3000 pounds and the pedestal weighs 160 tons. It doesn't say the materials it's made from but it was built by the FAST corporation in Sparta, Wisconsin and they do fiberglass signs and statutes. There was actually a European Starling sitting on it when I visited.
