Our family had an absolutely fantastic day at Lake Minnetonka Regional Park! I can't recommend this place enough for anyone with children looking for a perfect blend of outdoor activity and natural beauty. This park truly has it all and offers a full day of entertainment without feeling overwhelming. The trails were a particular highlight for us. They are well-maintained, with paved options that are perfect for pushing a stroller or letting younger kids ride their bikes safely. We enjoyed a leisurely stroll, taking in the beautiful scenery and keeping an eye out for wildlife. The trails connect various areas of the park, making it easy to wander and explore without getting lost. The playground is, without a doubt, a kid's dream come true. The nautical theme is a really creative touch and immediately captured the kids' imaginations. It's enormous, with a variety of climbing nets, structures, and slides designed for all ages and abilities. The rubber surface provided extra peace of mind for us as parents, and with so much to do, the kids were happily occupied for a very long time. Finally, the lake views were simply stunning. We made our way to the fishing pier and were treated to picturesque vistas of Lake Minnetonka. The gentle breeze and shimmering water made for a perfectly relaxing moment amidst our active day. It's a great spot for a photo op or just to take a moment and soak in the natural beauty. Between the engaging playground, the relaxing and scenic trails, and the gorgeous lake access, this park delivered on every front. It's a clean, safe, and incredibly fun destination for a family outing. We will...
Read moreThis place is amazing. They have a HUGE playground with so many types of slides and climbing structures. The ground is that soft rubber or whatever it is. They also have a separate sandbox which is also huge. I have brought ages 6 months to 6 years and everyone had a blast. There are plenty of picnic tables and benches to have lunch or a snack at. There is a bags set up (bring your own bags though) as well as a Frisbee golf course. So the playground is surrounded by a field but I'm not sure if that is mostly reserved for those activities. There is so much parking. Summer days obviously get busy but parking has never been an issue. But I have only been on weekdays.
Across the street and a with its own parking lot is the swimming pond. We sometimes come for swimming, the playground or rarely both. Simply because we run out of time before nap!
The swimming pond is also amazing. They have a few umbrellas you can sit under. They sell food like hotdogs and popcorn. We always pack a lunch so I can't speak to the food. There is a walking path around the whole pond which is great with a stroller. It is pretty far away from the water so be prepared to either drag the stroller or carry your stuff.
If we were a little bit closer we could honestly come here everyday and never be bored. I cannot recommend...
Read moreIf you want to swim in some clean water and nice sandy beach. This is the place to go! You can BBQ if you want. There is enough room for everyone. The playground is also good and huge! Many games of tag have been played there. If you plan on swimming more than a few different days, season wristbands are the way to go. Will definitely be going back many times next season. If you're going to a beach to sit in the sand and want some clean water to cool off it's much better than the lake beaches. Especially since it seems the western side of Lake Minnetonka beaches they don't care to take care of the beaches and they get smaller...
