On paper, this (PRIVATE) public park has it all! Turf playground, soccer fields, basket ball court, shelters, air conditioned clean bathrooms, even a splash pad. But once you get there, the reality is that you cannot use any of the above mentioned before you either sign a waiver, pay a fee, show proof of liability insurance, or all of the above.
This (PRIVATE) public park has not had a canopy in its playground since Hurricane Irma. That was on 9/10/2017. To this day, there is still no canopy so you and your children enjoy at your own risk of all the elements. Every time you ask about it, it's a different reason as to why it is not there.
Overlooking the lack of covered playground, say you decided to play with your kids or a group of friends in the soccer field or basketball court... well you can't!! Unless you have filed an LLC, as an organized team, and show proof of liability insurance for all participants. I am not kidding.
And the illusive splash pad. After three years of "we will open it next month" it's finally opened! But don't be fooled, conditions are attached. You need to sign a liability waiver for all participants, pay a fee (which happens to change in price based on whomever is taking your payment), and there's a time limit. This applies every day, not just weekends or holidays... every day.
Don't be fooled by the pictures. Don't be fooled by the fact that it's always empty. There's a reason for that, the management of this park do not want you to use it!! And they will make sure that you remember your visit by making it the most unpleasant day ever for you and your kids. It's a shame that you cannot use what your tax dollars pay for.
I live within walking distance of this park and I have to drive to other parks, just to guarantee my children will be able to have an enjoyable park experience without...
Read moreVery nice park that is always maintained along with the inside facilities. This park has rental options for parties or events. They have 2 pavilion type areas located next to its own parking lot. The pavilions both have areas for BBQ with some benches. The playground is right next to the pavilions so it's good if you have kids to keep a close eye. The other area is under the shade of the building and out of the grass and dirt. It has plenty of room for many guests. The bathrooms are clean and have a shower inside as well. If not mistaken there is some form of water area for the kids to enjoy behind the main building. The park also has a full-sized athletic field which I have only attended to officiate the Miramar soccer club which plays most of their home games there. Field is in decent condition and has bleachers (with a canopy for shade) on the north side of the field for spectators and parents. Just behind the field are the blacktop basketball courts within a fenced in area. The employees at the park have always been helpful and kind if I have questions about games and times. The same goes for those who are part of the Miramar United club. It's in a safe, clean neighborhood that one can enjoy with...
