I got to spend a week here with my girlfriend as a birthday present from my parents. We'll start AFTER driving through the unlit roads hoping to find this place. The "fun" started with having to go to two different buildings to check in. Then, having to leave the core of the hotel property to get to the room we have. We couldn't even see the main resort from our room. Now on to the room. It was just a step above a motel room. That step was the kitchenette. But the cheap furniture, hard-as-concrete mattress, and temperamental HVAC system. The TV in the room had non-functioning HDMI ports, so we were stuck watching basic cable. The window coverings weren't big enough for the window, letting light leak in from the sides EVERY morning. The bed, as mentioned before, was like sleeping on a padded concrete block. It wasn't until AFTER we had checked out, we could have gotten a mattress topper. It was nice to have the cooktop and dishwasher in the room, but the option of borrowing a toaster oven would have been nice. We didn't get the option to try the restaurant or pool, as we didn't feel like getting in the car to use these in early November. We drove enough just getting either groceries or to the nearest town (Manitowoc). Both of these are around 15-20 minutes each way. Now we also sent all these suggestions as our post-checkout opinion. Their offer: A free weekend for use between December and March 2018. For those who don't know this area's weather, snow is quite common. And since the drive for us was almost four hours, we said no. Maybe had we had a year to use it, might have. I know I can't complain too much as the stay was free, but then I feel bad that my parents wasted money. So for my suggestions: - If you're given a golf villa, ask for a normal villa unless you really like seclusion - Plan your grocery trips well. 40 minute round trips gets old. - If you have other options, stay at least in Manitowoc

This place used to be one of the best places to enjoy a great wedding celebration with great food and friends...now you're lucky if you even get all of your food before the end of your meal. Just had a wedding last night and here is the amazing timetable. They came out of the gates perfectly on time handing out the salad bar at 5:30 sharp for all the tables...one would think this was a great start minus the fact that people usually like more than 3oz of salad dressing for a table of 8 people but let's go on. After roughly 45 minutes to digest our salads finally the meal started to come out starting with the mashed potatoes and stuffing. This was a great appetizer to hold us over for the additional 20 minute wait until the rest of the main course started to trickle out. So to make it short (unlike the wait for the meal) we got our pork 20 minutes after the mashed potatoes and stuffing, 15 minutes later the burnt chicken came out, another 10 minutes later they dropped off some asparagus. Finally I thought the embarrassment concluded, but after we got done with our desert they finally dropped off our gravy for the mashed potatoes. You literally can't make this up and worst of all no one working there even seemed to care. $33 dollars a plate and $9 for a weak drink for service I wouldn't even expect in Illinois. Please don't ruin what should be the best day of your life by overpaying for a crappy hotel room and some of the worst food and experience you can have at a wedding.

If I could give 0 stars I would. - 1) We arrived at an basically empty hotel with 5 car and put we were put the very last room as far away from front desk as possible basically (Room 1048) - 2) The room was ice cold when we walked in and no heat turned on and when heat turned on it did not heat room. - 3) The lamp in corner did not turn on and was dark - 4) The bed had a brown spot on corner and pink staining at the top where head rest - 5) Toilet has gross hair and TP in it - 6) Room smells of mildew and has black marks in bathroom - 7) When I called the front desk they advised there was nothing they could do until a manager was available, I then called my credit card company and called front desk back and again told nothing can be done until manager available. - 8) I then packed up my items and got back into my vehicle and when I went to drop off key and check out I was finally offered a room change but declined since I had already been told nothing they could do and I had already packed my vehicle. WHY WAIT TO OFFER ROOM CHANGE. I CALLED TWICE AND NO ROOM CHANGE WAS OFFERED. Front desk claims I had thrown items when in reality I turned and from 2 feet away tossed key onto the counter no where near the person because she rudely asked me for the key back. This is a small resort BEWARE of going at all cause the rooms are gross, not well kept up, and then they will not refund you and claim you are not telling the truth about the situation.

First of all… My husband and I got married here on 8/20/21. Our wedding was gorgeous, but everything behind the scenes was quite awful. We signed our contract right after the change in ownership from Fox Hills to Par 5. Within a time span of 2 years, I had 5 different consultants because everyone that I started with, left the company, so I would be assigned a new one. In the process of trying to finalize details, things were missing. Not to mention having to go over all wedding details with each consultant I got. The anxiety a bride has is already crazy, but getting a new consultant 1 month prior to my wedding was AWFUL. There are so many other things that happened the week and day of the wedding but the most important to me that shows the type of service, is what’s happening now after the wedding. Per my contract and conversations with my consultant, Hailey, after the wedding we will be refunded for items we didn’t use or receive. 3 months after our wedding and I had sent SEVERAL emails and left SEVERAL voicemails, as well as my mother in law had called. I hadn’t heard from neither the financing department nor my consultant in 2 months. At the end, they refunded partially and provided us with a voucher for a 2 night stay in the deluxe suites. We have returned a year later to redeem our voucher and celebrate our anniversary with our friends. I spoke with hotel manager, Karah, 2 months ago to book our rooms and confirmed multiple times of what rooms we had and the dates. We arrived this evening to the room for our friends not being put into the system. They wanted the king room across the hall from us. They were given a 2 queen room a few doors down. They wanted to charge us over $60 more for the queen room, when we were supposed to be given these rooms for the pricing we were quoted 2 months ago. The only assistance they’ve given is giving us the price we were quoted, but no additional discounts for not having the room booked, due to the negligence of management, and also having to wait 30+ minutes to get our friends checked into their room. When they got into their room, first thing they found was a pillow with a very large spot of dried blood. The beds feel wet, there are spider webs all over and there are many pubic hairs on the floor of their bathroom. My husband and I checked into our deluxe suite, which is one of their bridal suites, and the curtains are falling down, the AC unit is falling out of the wall, and there is a massive hole in the window that looks like it was broken out from a golf ball… but all that’s been done to fix it thus far is a piece of cardboard and duct tape to cover it. I am still waiting at this point to get a phone call from the Direct supervisor of our hotel manager to address these issues but from what I’ve seen in previous reviews, not going to happen. Par 5 has shown me extreme unprofessionalism during and after wedding. Par 5 is a beautiful establishment, excellent food and the wait staff and bar staff were phenomenal during our day. But I cannot recommend par 5 for weddings or hotel stays after everything that has happened. The new ownership is completely destroying the reputation of what used to be Fox Hills and I have heard this from many locals as well that...

Part 2 of 2 from Sam Salewski: For many months beforehand, we’ve been pushed around or shrugged off by the staff here. Staffing changes are bound to happen, as they do in any business but it does not justify the details that were lost in the transition of new staff and the treatment we were given. We booked this venue with a Fox Hills contract and we never requested to meet the new owners or sign a new contract. A great example of when this could’ve been beneficial to both parties involved; August 2021, 2 months before our wedding I logged onto our electronic bill to find an additional $750 charge added on without any explanation. We did not receive a single phone call, message, or email to expect this change. I had to confront staff to be told “I was tasked by the owners to go through all of the event orders to make sure nothing had been missed, as when the crossovers were taking place, some items weren't added at that time when they should have been.” That being said, is this the customers fault or the staff’s fault? It was beyond UNPROFESSIONAL to tack on more and more money without any kind of notification to your customer. I was then told I would have to choose, “And actually, according to what all past, present, and future contracts say for the food, it is all subject to market pricing. Technically, the price for family style with Broasted chicken and beef tips is now $25 per person. Because of the market price going up so much more and how much of a difference it would have been to just have the room charge added instead of changing the food price, I was trying my best to keep the food at where it was previously, but technically, I am supposed to be charging the newest price.” BUT no where in my contract were the words “market pricing.” I gave Hailey my contract, that she took copies of. At that point we were even threatened that we could have our wedding dropped by the new owners and lose our venue. The gist of the comment I was given in person “Technically since we have new owners now they don’t have to follow your contract and could choose a different customer since we’re still having inquiries for October.” Who tells their client this??? Let alone about a month before their wedding?!?!?! I even had to listen to complaints that people were getting in trouble over these errors and that we were being difficult. Time and time again I have proven our accuracies and YOUR inaccuracies. I have made my contracted payments. My list could continue but I hope anyone reading this, steers clear of this business for your wedding. The headaches, tears, and stress are NOT worth what this place can offer you. Par 5 GET...

I don’t even know where to start. So far my experience here at the hotel has not been pleasant. At check in they couldn’t find my name and told me I didn’t have a room. After going back out to my car to retrieve my phone they found my room. ||||After getting into my room our toilet didn’t work. I advised the front desk and the employee came down to look at it and she advised she would have maitence come and check it. They didn’t show up in over an hour so I fixed it myself. ||||I am including photos of our room of issues that should be fixed. ||||A leaking vent over the shower that dripped fluid. ||||A outlet under the desk that only had 1 usable plug. Therefore the microwave, lamp and coffee maker has to be fought over. ||||A hair in the shower before we even took one. ||||A hand towel in the bathroom that had a brown substance on it. ||||My kids felt uncomfortable. ||||My son walked down to the front desk and asked for toilet paper, he was advised there was a shortage. He then replied “what am I supposed to wipe with” ||||On our 3rd day we had a back up of garbage and towels. We thought house keeping would have come but they did not. I placed our garbage in the hallway with a pile of used towels. I walked down to the front desk and asked for clean towels. She advised me I needed to bring down my dirty towels and place them in the “bin” in order to receive new, clean towels. ||||So far I have brought the girls down to the pool 2 nights out of the week to swim and have had to squeegee the floor in the low spots so people don’t slip. This must be an ongoing issue because they have a “slip” sign on these spots and squeegee for the public to use. ||||We came to the area for a softball tournament. I definitely am disappointed. After seeing what images you advertise online they are not the service standards or the experience you offer. Maybe they should post a picture of the bathrooms. ||||I would hope that for the price your charging and especially because your charging before you stay that you make a persons experience worth a 3 night minimum. ||||I will not recommend your hotel, and in fact feel like I should send you a bill for housekeeping, plumbing services and pool maintenance that I helped you to avoid insurance claims. ||||Thank you,||2 trips in 1...
