Arkabutla Lake — Attraction in Mississippi

Had reservations for this weekend! We show up and there is a run down camper in the spot we reserved and paid for. Looks like they’ve been living there but no one home. After 2 hours of calling every number available we finally got someone on the phone just to tell us the rest of camp ground is fully booked and pretty much nothing they could do for us. They can’t even guarantee us a refund as they say it will have to be submitted and reviewed first. No Park Ranger in site as we drove all over the camp looking for one pulling my 39ft camper along with me with no where to go now but back home. Needless to say kids and wife super disappointed. Will update if and when I ever get a refund...

I really enjoy taking my kids here to swim and play in the sand. It is usually kept pretty clean and has park rangers circling around so I always feel safe. They also have multiple playgrounds with picnic tables and small grills. My family and I love Arkabutla! We spend a lot of time here in the summer, camping and fishing, and swimming! We have even gotten to know some of the locals who live at the grounds, the rangers are friendly, theres even one ranger who keeps and eye on our dog while we're at the beach or fishing at the spillway.
