Noxubee refuge is an wonderful wetland and an amazing place for a hide out, if you love nature. Very good place for picnic, BBQ or a day out, especially in summer. BBQ grills are provided free. Parking is free. You can go for kayaking/ fishing. But there are alligators in the water, so don’t forget to keep an eye ! There are some bird watching tails, but make sure to wear nice hiking shoes to walk in the trail, as there are some snakes and bugs.

I go here once in a while to have a feel of nature. Nothing here, though. But I like going to quietly gaze at nature in its simplest forms; lake and forest. That's all. They said there are animals, but I've never seen any. There is crocodile/alligator sculpture, but I've never seen a live alligator or crocodile there. People also fish there, but I've never tried that, so I can't say anything about what must be done.

We enjoyed 2 1/2+ hours at this National Wildlife Refuge. We chose the lake path first, then hiked on the bald cypress boardwalk, sat under a tin roof porch under a light rain ... observing turtles, birds, ducks, and more !! For nature lovers and people seeking peaceful moments, this refuge isn't just for the wildlife! It was designed to educate and allow us to connect with our surroundings and unplug.

The Noxubee Refuge is a great place to go hike, have a picnic, or take kids. The visitor center has a small museum area that kids love. They have a few taxidermy animals, an alligator that likes noise, a touch area and a few areas to read about various animals from the area. There is a small gift shop area. There are several trails of various levels that even small kids can enjoy, an area with picnic tables and room to run around near the lake, and a lookout area where alligators can sometimes be seen. There is a full bathroom in the visitor center and a camp toilet near the...

A beautiful place for beginner hikers, families, and all around nature lovers! My significant other and I came out here on a weekend to get our hike on. The trails are nice, though there were a few fallen trees we had to maneuver, and the employees are so wonderfully helpful and kind. We saw much wildlife and pretty insects along the way. Not to mention the various kinds of mushrooms along the trails! If you do decide to go, I suggest some bug spray, especially for chiggers. My s/o did get a nasty case of chigger bites, but oh,...
