This was a neighborhood experience that I grew up with. Quail Valley is actually a very large neighborhood and it was packed before the entire city of Houston found out about it from someone who wasn't even from Texas. Before the news articles, it would be so packed that they used to check IDs to make sure it stayed local for the neighborhood kids. I don't know what changed but it's awful to experience the traffic and commotion now. My kids cannot have the same experience we did growing up. The experience now is just people watching because folks from all over the city congregate to one street and then start touring a neighborhood late at night. The traffic gets so bad it takes the residents who live in the neighborhood over an hour to get home once they turn off of Cartwright. I would prefer for them to go back to checking IDs, the experience is too much and there are less homes willing participating each year I'm guessing because of the overwhelm? There are neighborhoods all over Houston (bigger than quail valley btw) that partake in Halloween lights/decorations. Find the one local to you on nextdoor or Google and it will accommodate the population of your area appropriately. I can't believe Quail Valley is allowing this, and I am truly anxious about what's to...

The amazing light displays and other decorations are truly a sight to see. It's like the Disneyland of all Christmas displays. Absolutely beautiful and creative with the lights, decorations and an abundance of moving & interactive characters. Highly recommend going...
