Down a nice, scenic drive from Columbia, Missouri you’ll find Cooper’s Landing, a photo-worthy old rusty bridge that’s been converted for use on the Katy Trail, and Boathenge! You’re right on the edge of the mighty Missouri River, and it really is a pretty place! It’s very peaceful, and Boathenge is just one of the many reasons you should take this drive. There was cotton blowing in the light breeze when we visited, and even though it technically said “private property” at Boathenge, there wasn’t any issue parking and walking over to get a quick picture. It’s certainly not something you’re expecting all the way out here, but it’s a neat art piece!

Okay, this is a cool place, and if you’re on your way to the area, for whatever reason, I highly recommend making a quick stop even if you don’t try to visit BoatHenge, it’s just a beautiful area. As for BoatHenge itself, I can attest, along with other reviewers, that it’s just, “alright.” It’s nothing crazy or special, it’s cool enough.

Take a nice country drive to this part of the Katy trail, where some anonymous artist(s) apparently placed six small boats upright, representive of Stonehenge. They've added a maze through the reeds. Lovely views of the river, and a picturesque bridge. We had no access issues--it was fully accessible.

After following our GPS to a driveway, we made our way up the driveway to look for the boats. We were greeted by two dogs who seemed to be good guard dogs, but very friendly. The owner of the house was not so much. He yelled at us that it is private property. As walking back down the driveway we spotted the boats. It was too late to get any pictures though as the jerk was...
