Pretty lake. You can hike around the whole lake (about 12 miles) picnic areas by the boat ramp are not well taken care of but everything else seems to be including the beach area. You cannot look at the dam so don't even try unless you want to wade thru weeds. BEACH DOES NOT OPEN TILL 11 and is closed on certain days. Water looks pretty clear and clean for a lake.

It's a long drive but definitely worth it. The water was super clean, we could stand shoulder deep and still see our toes, sand bottom. Family friendly, small bbq's around for cooking, a stand to buy snacks and drinks, showers to rinse off, and bathrooms.

The map is incorrect. Where it shows the dam is actually the spillway. The dam is on the other side of the dam control that juts out from the closed road. Big river comes out of a pipe at the bottom of the dam.

We've taken our family a few times. Nice, clean beach and several picnic areas for bbq's. During the week there's a concession stand. There are showers that take quarters and family restrooms. Bring your change, $3 to park, coolers, food, drinks, and have an amazing day...
