I had an amazing trip here. Disclaimer if you have troubles hiking or can't go up and down stairs easily this is not for you. The castle ruins trail was pretty easy the easiest trail by far. Recommend parking by that trail. To go to the spring was very easy for me 19 year old but for my mom 56 year old was a struggle. The spring is beautiful and highly recommend going. For kaykaying I wanted to go to the onyx cave but it is a 2 hour way there and back. My mom was not able to do that so we turned around. When you get a kayak you go to the visitor center and get the keys there's a 2hr 4hr and all day rental. Then you go down by spring trail and get the kayaks yourself. Would not recommend if it is your first time kayaking to go here. This place is all do it yourself. Overall I had an amazing time very dog friendly. We put booties on our dog due to suns ray on the concrete. Some paths are very shaded and...

I've been here a few times, it's always beautiful! Especially in the fall! The leaves and the air are amazing! The spring is one of the biggest in Missouri. You can't go in the water obviously, but it is gorgeous. If you take the stairs it is an insane hike. Be sure you are in good physical health. Going down is usually no problem, but going up you're in for a hike. The mansion ruins up top are a little bit of a disappointing part. Last time I was here 2 years ago you could go right up to the ruins, that has since been blocked off by a large bulky fence. For "safety hazards" which was disappointing. But non the less a beautiful sight of history. Worth the visit and the surrounding areas have...

This is hands down one of the most beautiful parks in our area. The history alone is fascinating but when you combine this with the diverse hiking trails for beginners to experts, you truly experience nature at its best. If you aren't into hiking and prefer the water, the Spring area provides swimming, fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding and plenty of room to anchor your boat and spend a leisurely afternoon below the bluffs. It also offers restrooms and picnic areas throughout the park. Perfect place to spend an hour or all day with family and friends. Also a great place to take family, engagement,...

We visited in the fall, and there was some color, although many trees had lost their leaves. The path to the spring is mostly nice, but there's a weird section where you have to squeeze between wet slippery rocks, and certainly wouldn't be accessible to wheelchairs and such. I got so intent on looking at the views that I walked off one of the steps on the boardwalk, and sprained my ankle. We wanted to look at the Island Trail, but it was enough work to have to walk 1/2 mile back to the car with my injury. It was rather crowded on a Tuesday afternoon when we stopped by on a road trip from Springfield to St. Louis.

I’ve been going to Ha Ha Tonka for years and recently the Spring had been shut down for months trying to pull out gravel that had unnaturally worked it’s way into the bed of the spring. Now reopened to the public after their project being completed, the Spring is like nothing I’ve ever seen before. In some spots it doesn’t even look remotely similar to what it did and for the better. It’s absolutely stunning and will take your breath away. Take time to go checkout all the hard work and the beautiful spring to come from it.
