This is the hidden gem Marina off of Stockton lake it has small cabins right off the water and camping areas right off the water it has a small area to get food inside of the marina like hamburgers and so on... It has a little store in the marina is beautiful very large the grounds are immaculate even the restrooms are kept very clean and sanitary... The lake is an old zinc mine area it runs through Three counties the trade winds blow from north to south and sailing is very popular here although there's very few boats on the water because not too many outsiders know about this off the beaten path like... It has all kinds of fish in the lake muskie northern pike bass catfish perch both yellow green and bluegill and tons of carp around the boat dock areas at the marina they surface to the water as if to ask for food... It is an extremely clean lake area one of the best lake areas I've seen in years... The town has a local medical center for all your health needs it has a wood's supermarket.. for all your grocery shopping it has a Dollar general store a McDonald's and a drive-through Sonic Mexican restaurants in the area including set down restaurants.. this area is not a real big booming area but jobs are nearby from the center of Stockton town it's 22 miles to El Dorado and 22 miles to Bolivar Missouri and only 50 minutes from Springfield Missouri in an hour and a half to Kansas City.. the roads are kept very nice. Stockton Missouri has mild Winters and hot summers but it's fairly idealistic throughout the year on temperature in the area. They get plenty of rain so all the hay feels that alfalfa fields fescue fields and brohm hays will have several cuttings throughout the year... Most of the area will have to be drilled 400 ft to obtain water... The terrain is flat to gently rolling farm fields with plenty of woods mixed with thousands of varieties of trees... The wildlife population is extremely beautiful and nice to behold... Like any small town you will have people asking questions only because they want good people in the town.. once they get to know you everything will be just fine... Remember all small towns where new people move to many of the small-town people will be curious as to who you are and where you came from this is just small town life facts. But if you're looking to a place to build a home or buy a home and you're a beautiful lake that is not crowded whatsoever then Stockton lake is the answer it has a big damn that produces tons of electricity for over eight states and services many people in the community the lake runs through over three different counties so bring your GPS if you're on the water. Read moreThis place was horrible. The owner was beyond rude to my family first of all , secondly they don't show you the boat you are renting until You have paid for it. After We we're completely disrespected by the old man and dropped $225 we were then shown to our gem of a boat that We had just rented. This thing needed to be taken out back and shot. I wish I could post pictures of this piece of trash but I can't. Everything was torn or ripped, the trim couldn't be adjusted because it was broken, no ropes, no bouys, the anchor was a jet ski anchor in a 20' line, all of the speakers had been kicked in, the radio was in place but looks like at one time a meth head may have tried stealing it. I was very upset to see their line up of rental vehicles and the way that the owner treated my mother. We have owned a cabin and a boat (boats in the shop) at Stockton for 20 years plus, and he treated my mother like an idiot that had never been in the water before. We will never come here again. And I would encourage anyone looking to rent, camp, buy gas, eat food, anything you need don't...

We loved the experience so much we rented a fishing pontoon on Labor Day thinking we would have much more fun with a boat set up for fishing. Wellll,,, that didn't happen!! First of all, the depth finder quit working after 30 minutes,,, then when we caught some crappie we couldn't get the live well to wirk!! NO AERATION to the live wel . To keep the fish from dying while we kept fishing we had to turn them lose!!! Then last of All,,, the trolling motor came lose from the dec . Almost lost it in the lake! When I returned the boat, all the owner said was,,,I guess we need to fix those items!!! Nothing about being sorry,,,which that was a sorry response,,, or nothing about compensation for the things that didn't work!! Very unprofessional of these people!!!! State Park is a very nice facility,,,but VERY UNPROFESSIONAL...
