🏕️Another cool place I found, along these backroads. Trail of Tears State Park in Cape Girardeau County, Missouri, is a 3,415-acre park that serves as a memorial to the Cherokee people who died during the forced relocation known as the Trail of Tears. ⚠️1.5x speed, just incase you thought I was speeding✋🏽 . . . #backroad #therapy #fypシ゚viral #capegirardeau #missouri

I liked it the Riverside has better sites with more grass, the upper site has closer access to a small lake with fishing and a designated swimming area. Personally id suggest camping Riverside and commuting to the lake for recreation.

One of my favorite places to go to enjoy natural beauty! Grab the dog and go for a hike on one of the secluded scenic trails overlooking the Mississippi River.

Very Sparse for a visitor center. There is a trail around the back and they have information pamphlets, patches and lapel pins.

If you're in the area and looking for a good nature center, the nearby Cape Conservation Nature Center has better exhibits.

That said, if trails are your preferred State Park experience, trails abound in this park and a decent trail (1/2 mile loop) starts right out back. Go around the visitor center and past the outdoor...

The narratives and paintings are drawn from diaries of leaders that retell this tragic epic of forced relocation - death march of approximately 16,000 Cherokee, and 16,000 Choctaw Native Americans. Over 3,000 and 5,000 died respectively from colera, starvation, and some froze to death waiting to cross the Miss. river. Nat. Park Service needs to put state rd. numbers on its "Trail...
