I spent 2 nights at the Bed and Breakfast and did get 2 different bottles of wine while there. The Bed and Breakfast is AMAZING!! It is a very old house, and the decorating is done in time period of the house. Each room has a different view and feel. There is also a private sink, shower and toilet in each room. I stayed in the Eugene room, and when I opened the back blinds I could see the pond and the 2 white mules out back. The breakfast was AMAZING. Karen let me pick my time I wanted breakfast (I was only one staying there during the week). The first morning was scrambled eggs with bacon, side of bacon, mixed fruit and toast with coffee and juice. The 2nd morning it was amazing French Toast cooked in real butter with brown sugar and walnuts (Karen I would love the recipe) with bacon, juice and coffee. Karen is so friendly and starts your day off with a smile and friendly conversation!! As for the wines, I had a bottle of Vignoles I kept in the refrigerator in the bed and breakfast kitchen and it was amazing. Then I brought home a bottle of the Double Tree Red and we all love it (wish I had bought more)! I can't say enough good things about the tastings I did (of course I had to do 2 separate ones with family members) and how friendly the employees are. So stop by and they will make you feel right at home. Plus the rates were better than any hotel...
Read moreOn our latest visit I was pretty disappointed. The only thing that was hot were the green beans and they had so much pepper in them that I only ate a couple of bites. The chicken, potatoes and gravy were barely more than room temp..everything tasted fine but barely warm mashed potatoes aren't as appealing as hot. I would have settled with the potatoes being just warm if the gravy had been hot. And we were there at peak lunch time. Hard to justify the trip out if the quality has gone down.
Update from our most recent visit...the price of the all you can eat chicken or roast beef dinner no longer includes dessert. Not a biggie in my book.
This is our 2nd time dining here. Came out for their all you can eat fried chicken or roast beef dinner with all the trimmings. Homemade mash potatoes with pan drippings gravy, vegetables, salad and roll with a choice of brownie, carrot cake or gooey butter cake for dessert. It was delicious.. the gravy was like my mother use to make when she made...
Read moreMy wife and I stayed at the Bed & Breakfast here for her birthday and it was an incredible experience. We were the only ones staying there (It was a Thursday Evening) and the owner met us at the winery and we walked over to the 100+ year old farm house we would call home for the night. It was so nice, we had the run of the house and sipped some of their lovely white wine while sitting under the stars before turning in. It is a rustic experience, of course there's electricity, AC, and water, but know that it is a 100+ house. Say hi to the pair of white mules that the winery is named after and support a family run business.
The experience could not have been better and the price was fantastic too! In the morning we visited the local antique shops in Rosebud and had a great time. We will definitely be returning for one of their steak or chicken dinners they are famous for. Well done White Mule! Another great local...
