I really wanted to visit this place on our way back to Illinois from thr crazy horse memorial, however we were running behind on schedule and my newborn was crying in the RV and it was VERY cold out so, I decided to run in quickly with my older daughter. I didn't realize there was an admission and I had left my purse in the rv which was parked a ways away. There was a sign that said "please sign our guest book" so I asked the young (white) guy working the front desk if I could sign it and his response was "yeah we usually make people pay who come thru here" which was not at all what I asked. Read moreWhether you are local, traveling through, or even making it your destination, I highly recommend the experience of visiting this site. That is exactly what it is too.... an experience that will reach inside you. It made this 53 year old man feel like a kid.... filled me with wonder, amazement, and like a sponge...wanting to learn more and more. I will be back next year on the way to the Hills! The staff was knowledgeable and as filled with as much excitement as I was. Heck, if I would have had the time, I would have taken them out for dinner! History should be forever, and they are doing their part very well. A must...
