The sleeper hit of Six Flags America. I rode Roar in the middle of the train in the dead of night. This coaster has no lighting anywhere near it except for the station. And I had very little knowledge of this ride's forces and layout before riding. Plus, wooden coasters run faster after cycling all day, and feel faster at night. Roar also has tunnels and lots of near misses with its structure, enhancing the sense of speed. And since I was in the middle of the train, I could barely see to brace myself for turns and drops.
With all of that being said, Roar was an absolute monster at night. Fast paced, intense, rough, unpredictable, pitch black, and untamed. Absolutely my favorite ride at this park, I'd come back just to ride this coaster again and see what it's like in other rows and when...
