Interesting rock formation found at the end of a moderately strenuous spur trail starting at Double O Arch. In my opinion, this feature wasn't really worth the 1.6 mile round-trip hike (especially if you're doing the full Devil's Garden/Primitive Loop Trail with the Navajo Arch, Partition Arch, and Tunnel/Pine Tree Arch spurs), but if you have the time and the energy, it's at least a different type of rock formation than you've been seeing all day

It takes a bit of climbing and balancing to reach the end of this trail, but the view is well worth it. Just near Dark Angel is a raised mound of sand that allows you to overlook the length of Arches during the day, and far off in the distance you can see the mountain range. You can also see some parts of Canyonlands!

This extra offshoot is worth the look if you’re fascinated by remote Utah country and you have the endurance to add 1.5 miles round trip to the hike. So not for everybody, but this was one of my favorites because of the view in the distance

The trip here was well worth it. While Dark Angel itself is ok, there’s a lot of amazing to see on the way up. Like stupendous amazing. Do this.

Handy reminder. Hot in the desert. Bring more water.

By the time you get to double O you’ve seen most of the good stuff, but this last part isn’t nearly as hard. Might as well go...
