Sand Dune Arch is a short, easy walk that leads you to a truly magical spot tucked between towering sandstone fins. The cool, shaded area feels like a secret hideaway in the desert—perfect for a mid-day break from the heat. The soft, fine sand underfoot gives it a beach-like feel, which kids (and adults) will love.

The arch itself isn’t massive, but its secluded location and unique surroundings make it really special. It’s a great stop if you’re short on time or looking for something quick and memorable.

The trail is flat and accessible, making it ideal for families with young kids. Go early or later in the day to avoid crowds and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. The narrow canyon walls offer fantastic photo ops with beautiful light and shadow play. Kids will enjoy climbing around the sandy area and exploring the rock formations. Definitely worth adding to your list—it’s a small detour with...

The Sand Dune Arch makes for something a bit different when hiking the grounds of Arches National Park. This is a short splinter trail along with the slightly longer Broken Arch main trail south of Devil's Garden Campground.

The trail is .2 miles towards a cluster of sandstone fins. The area is quite sandy as you approach the fins. Shortly after entering, you will encounter a small arch (and other hikers). The arch is small and not particularly impressive. However, it is easy to find and in an interesting location. The surrounding sand does make for a bit of fun for families

In the end, you can conveniently combine a visit to the Sand Dune Arch with that of the Broken Arch trail while spending time in the Devil's Garden campground area. We found this to be a nice short detour and a good option for those seeking light, easy trails around the...

Visiting Sand Dune Arch was like finding a hidden gem tucked away in Arches National Park. The short trail leading to it winds through narrow sandstone fins, creating a sense of adventure and anticipation. When I arrived, the arch was nestled in a sandy alcove, surrounded by towering red rock walls that provided welcome shade from the desert sun.

The soft sand beneath my feet gave the area a peaceful, almost beach-like vibe, making it a perfect spot to pause and take in the beauty of the formation. It felt quiet and intimate, unlike some of the larger, more crowded arches in the park.

Sand Dune Arch is a quick and easy stop, but it leaves a lasting impression. Its unique setting and serene atmosphere make it a must-visit, especially if you’re looking for a quieter, more secluded experience...
