A short and spectacular hike between tall red rock peaks. Unlike some canyons, the walls are not too steep, and most places it is not too hard or dangerous to scramble up and explore along the side of the trail. It is also a good way to spend time in more solitude, as the trail is narrow and can get crowded. The path is pink or orange sand, and narrows toward the end. The final destination is after a sharp left and contains a pool of water, something not uncommon in the depth of canyons, where the terrain can collect water and is shielded somewhat from the sun. You can scramble up the rock to the left of the pool for an amazing view.
If you continue straight, instead of taking a left to the pool, you will get to a less trafficked end of the canyon, which seems even more shielded and collects moisture in the sand. There are restrooms here as well as a nice picnic area across the road so you can make this a mid point in your day of exploring. My main reason for not giving this hike a full 5 stars is because of the parking issue and the crowds I...

I didn't see any sheep this time, but have encountered them...
