Rothwell Park — Attraction in Moberly

Beautiful park with walking path, dog park, multiple shelters, playgrounds, archery range, mini-railroad, pool and 2 seperate 18 hole disc golf courses. The Lakes course is wonderfully designed. It pretty much handrails the walking path/road as o.b. on one side for the front 9 making navigation strait forward. Fairways are short mowed grass and well defined with steep dense underbrush filled draws being opposite the path or road. Water is definitely a potential hazard on several holes (4,7,15,&18) as the course name would imply. The back nine take you north across the road winding through mature oaks, topography intuitively funneling you to the next tee box when the path isn't. You will find yourself finishing out facing east with a short walk up hill on the path to where you started and hopefully parked! Another notable thing about this course, holes 4, 5, 7, 10, 13, 15, and 17 tee from well elevated positions in relation to the basket. Extremely fun course to play! There is another 18 hole course on the far northwest edge of the park that starts behind the lodge and arena close by the entrance off U.S. HWY 24. That is all I will say about...

Beautifully kept park. Spacious, large trees big lake for fishing. Smaller lake as well. Two 18 hole discgolf courses. The lake course is a great challenging course. They have a small train for kids to ride on. Play areas. At least two. Plenty of shelter/ pavilions for gatherings. Water hydrants for use . Public restrooms. At least one is air conditioned ,corrales for fairs and rodeos. Dog parks ,baseball fields. It's a great public park. One of my favorites in the local area's. Camping and a pool as well.
